To be fair it was literally the first time the server has been offline in over 2 weeks 
Nah it was my fault, I'm working on the site tonight and some of the code I'm working on is impossible to test offline, so when I ****ed up earlier I properly ****ed up.

To be honest, it's such a good laugh here that I prob. wouldn't mind chucking in a quid each month to keep the whole thing going, I never even thought about Mick putting up his own cash to keep it going.

I pay £100.mth for my OH's forum that is not half as busy as not606
Forums require a lot of expensive server costs because they are being hammered all the time for updates by us punters, unlike simple web sites.
