If Liverpool win the FA Cup and we finish 6th, we would be starting our Europa League campaign on the 2/3 August, with the second leg the week after.

The likelihood here is that we would be at home in the second leg anyway due to a seeded draw(I think) but if we were at home, the Olympics are due to be played on the 3rd and 4th at SJP, therefore ruling out any possibility of playing at SJP that week due to Olympic rules.

Now, the only stadium within a 30-mile radius(apparently a rule) that would be big enough to fit us would be the SOS. Now, it would be the only sell out that stadium would see next season, and they would get a cut, but what a slap in the face that would be to them, we start our European Tour at their ground.

Now, the likelihood of this happening is very low, it just wouldn't be deemed acceptable by both clubs and it certainly wouldn't be fair to ask the opposition to play at home first if they were due to be at home second due to the advantage situation.

There will be ways round it, for example we won't even finish 6th and Liverpool won't win the FA Cup. We'll finish higher anyway in my opinion.

Just imagine it though. Would you go?

No way the police would allow it. No way Sunderland would agree to it.

But if it did, damn skippy I would. A chance to take our European bandwagon to the SOS and rub their noses in it. I can think of nothing better!

    Since it'd be a one-off....

Darlington Arena, 25k capacity. A club in financial trouble getting a financial boost to keep them alive. <ok>

25,000 geordies there is better than 49,000 at Sunderland.

Darlington would be a good idea I suppose, but Sunderland would just be ****ing hilarious.

Too far for a 'home' game... Been before, it's decent but think Darlo's probs best option.
Gateshead's obvioulsly be decent, but only 12,000 seats, **** ground, far from pitch etc. Looks a bit like Lille's ground though.
