Honestly, with the recent close of the transfer window, I found myself exhausted by all the rumors and speculation. Nonetheless, can't resist sharing something interesting when presented with the opportunity. Anyone know of this lad from Nuremburg...formerly of Spurs? Never heard of him myself, but they have us linked in the Jan window. Or should I say they are speculating we MAY be interested. Been to this site many times before, and the word reliability doesn't exactly come to mind. But, curious if anyone else knows about the lad or heard anything similar. http://www.footballtransfertavern.c...land/bruce-checks-on-5m-bundesliga-journeyman It may seem odd to be continue the debate about the state of Sunderlandâs strike force considering they smashed four goals past a resilient Stoke City, but The Mirror, The People and a variety of other media outlets are reporting Steve Bruce scouted Tomas Pekhart this weekend. With the the Asamoah Gyan debacle, Steve Bruceâs striking problems have yet again been highlighted. It was unlikely that the Sunderland boss would have foreseen the need to use Connor Wickham and Ji Dong-Won so early. That much is clear by his maintained reluctance to start either of them. In a game where Sunderland badly needed a win, he opted to keep these two on the bench and bring them on with ten minutes to spare when the game was well and truly over. Nicklas Bendtner is a good signing thereâs no doubt about it, but there is a Gyan-shaped hole in the strike force Bruce needs to fill. Considering the likely sale of the Ghanaian international next summer to big time pretenders Al-Ain, it would be safe to say Bruce can start making a contingency plan using the money he is likely to receive. His apparent target is Tomas Pekhart, Tottenham flop yet Czech league super star. He has had his share of clubs, at the age of 22 he has played for six different teams and only very recently earned a move to Bundesliga team Nuremburg. After moving away from the shadow of both White Hart Lane and serious injury troubles, he has flourished and is now linked with a move back to the Premier League. His record since leaving Spurs is good, but he might not be the household striking name Sunderland fans may wish for. They need a replacement for Gyan, not another Wickham or Dong-Won. For £5m it could be a fantastic deal .. or a terrible one.
hasnt had a lot of games at all, but when he has played he has scored. Scouting and buying are 2 different things though, and Nuremburg have just signed him, so not sure why they would let him go (if he is any good)
I honestly believe we will be scouting a few strikers over the coming months and no doubt a good source will have them all booked in at Seaham Hall. The one I am looking forward to seeing is the one having his medical after agreeing terms, you know who I mean, that chap from ??????????
This is from the Mirror. Must admit if he was at Spurs he passed me by. Were going to see loads of these rumours because our scouts will be out their looking at anyone half decent.
