Having nearly 6 hours to calm down and contemplate this latest shambles..to blame bad luck or bad refs is a kop out..there is something more fundermentally wrong. It is a calendar year since this club won back to back league games..Ive have lost count of the sendings off this season..this club is a large bunch of disparate individuals thrown together in search of money and ambition..to me there is no ethos or a collective team spirit or togetherness..that goes from the very top to the very bottom..That elusive thing called team spirit or club culture has been lost along the way..Im afraid I don't think all these players have a "we are all in this together" mentality yet...it may come, but its going to take a long time and a lot more stability..Top and co are going to have to face it...there is no magic bullet to instant promotion..pointing the finger at bad decisions and injuries or bad luck is masking the horrible truth...Every single thing is here for this club to be a major success, financial backing, facilities, stadium..fantastic fans..(how good were they today) ..yet still we are going nowhere..buying good players is one thing..buying players with the right personalities is another ...we are lacking in the second category im afraid...some of our sqauad are not leicester city type players...they do not have the "right stuff".... too much money not enough caring... in the world of high finance two and two do make four, but our owners must learn spending x to get y does not and will not work...modern football is far more complicated than that..I hope they don't break their piggy bank to find this out...I feel so sorry for our fans, we all deserve better than this......sorry but im off to thaw out my bollocks now..

Totally agree - for me only Danny Drinkwater stood out. More players of his ilk and we will be fine

On this occasion, i will have to be guided by those fans that went, ive been to 10 away games this season, but couldn't make this one, due to family commitments. I listened on the radio, and i know they do their best, but at the end of the day they are lcfc fans, and i feel are always gonna be a bit blinkered in their opinions. They made it sound like the whole world is against us,now i will admit we have been on the end of some s***e referee's decisions this season, but i do think we have to look at ourselves to, if im honest.
As stated above, to have not won back to back games for so long is shocking, and is def not a recipe for getting promotion, speaking of which, i gave up on that after the Barnsley debacle, so nothing has changed for me. In some ways i think it would be bad for us if by some miracle we did get promoted, cos we are simply not good enough, end of story, and it dosn't matter how much we try to delude ourselves, were def not.
Nigel's continued selection of Wellens completely baffles me, can he not see that the bloke just cant cut it nowadays, and was guilty yet again yesterday, of giving the ball away on several occasions, tho with injuries and suspensions mounting, im pretty sure were saddled with him and likewise Gallagher, cos we have no other options really.
I dont know what the answer is, but its plain for all to see, things are not right, and until that is sorted out, its def mid table obscurity for us, there are no two ways about it. My biggest worry, is what our owners are making of all of this, how long will they keep up this level of investment, and more importantly, how long before they get fed up with things, if its true what im hearing, they havn't been to a game since christmas???

I agree that the play-offs are probably over unless we go on a run similar to the one Reading had last season - although they were a similar number of points off this time last year. But I don't feel we have the consistency to go on a run like that.

We have to remember yesterday that we were down to 9 when they scored and then 8 when we were pushing for an equalizer and that will obviously make it very hard for us to win any football match. Up until that point, it seemed like a fairly even game bar a spell they had at the end of the 1st half and it appeared a competent away performance to a good side. The Beckford sending off obviously changed things. From everyone I've spoken to (including a Brighton fan), they've said there was nothing in it in terms of a physical clash or violent conduct from Beckford and it seems, from what Nigel and Stringer said, that the red card was for violent conduct so we can put that one down to circumstances out of our control. The Danns one looked fair enough.

However, we can preach this hard-luck story all day long but the reason we won't get into the play-offs isn't because of bad referee's but because of inconsistencies throughout the season under both managers. When we play to our potential, we can be a match for the best teams in this league but we have to produce that more often if we want to go anywhere. That's the key to any successful sides. Also, the last time Nigel was here, we used to be able to grind out wins and battle to victory and it is that ability of being able to win without playing well that we also need to develop. Whenever we get three points, it is usually through champagne football and dominating the game and we never seem to be able to nick a tight 1-0 away from home and don't produce that match winning form often enough. That's another thing that separates the top sides from the average ones and at present, I'm afraid we're the latter.

That said, I have every faith in Nigel Pearson to sort this out and to get us up there fighting next season. I think he will need a summer to build his own squad and properly stamp his own authority on Leicester City. Tony Mowbray has done a similar job in similar circumstances at 'Boro and NP himself did it at Hull. Until then, providing the owners have the patience of the fans, we have to sort of plod along this year and try and develop this winning mentality and squad ethos that you mention (and Pearson is good at engineering a team spirit) and possibly hope for a decent Cup run.

I don't think it's the owners fault for giving Sven the money to spend, he just didn't spend it that well and didn't manage the players that he spent the money on very well. I do believe however that with a manager with a proven record of buying young, hungry players and improving them and building teams, coupled with one of the best scouts in the country, I would trust that any future investments from the owners is in very safe hands, as is the future of our club on and off the pitch with the current board-room and football management structure. I just hope the owners feel the same.

We have a core of a squad it just needs building on. Nigel will sort that out. We just need to win as many games as possible and see where it takes us

Given a summer Nigel can tweak a few things and build on what we have.

The owners have never said promotion this year. They said as soon as possible

Of course you dont spend 10-15M not to go up but they have said they will try again next year if we have to

Ok I wasn't there so I've no idea how well or not so well we performed yesterday but I think that there has been an improvement recently and the players seem to have responded to the more positive vibes from us supporters. Just really need to start winning at home and taking our chances. Cardiff will be a good test but we tend to raise our game against the really good teams anyway.

problem is we have had false dawns before, we probably will beat cardiff then lose to cov at home. I think this season is a bust. Im beginning to run out of ideas,so god knows what the owners must think.

Im sure the owners must have expected alot more than mid table obscurity, when investing the amout of money they have. Have to agree that inconsistancy has been the major prob this season, as well as alot of underperforming players for one reason or another, yes there has been an improvement of late, but having said that we are no nearer to closing tha gap on the play offs than we were before(tho ive thought they were beyond us for quite a while now), i fear, brace yourselves for the end of season abuse from those lining up to rub our faces in finishing around 10th/12th, and there will be plenty of them lol............

we have been saying that for about the last 6-8 wk's proud, and as i said above, were still no nearer now, and with every game that comes and goes without any significant progress, they are running out pretty quickly............

Leicester City ... consistantly inconsistant <ok>

We will have a couple of good games, get within 5 points of the playoffs, then something will go wrong, and we'll be back to 8 points behind again.

I hope that NP brings in more Drinkwater type signings, who need to build a good reputation for themselves, rather than already having one.
