Got to say, I was really impressed with it. They have taken the average sized persons arse and made the seats with room. Instead of cramming more in so people are sitting on the next person. If they design AV if it ever happens I will be happy with that.
It is a lovely ground. Something that makes you a little jealous but just one problem, I hate sitting down at games so not bothered about how big the seats are
Some of us are not able to stand for anything like that period of time so we are interested in the comfort or otherwise of the seats.
You should expect a large seat, as your paying double the price to watch that team who used to be good
I know hawk. That was just my opinion, If I was making the ground then I would have every seat cushioned and big enough and really comfortable but I would be stood up with the EE boys
They are all cushioned Shiny, and if you wanted to stand plenty of room up and down the aisles. Really impressive ground and I liked the wave effect they have going round the ground.
For its cost it is nothing really that special. HOK also built several stadiums in Portugal, check the designs, they are the team who designed Ashton Vale. Their stadiums are fluid bowls. The Emirates would benefit from a statement end, it's dull and the old North Bank seems to have left the club, or given up beaten by the surroundings. Not for nothing is it known as the library.
despite threats of violence, blackmail. and paternal persuasion, arsenal are my sons club of choice ( might be worse coud be utd.) so been there a few times, and while theres no doubt its a great stadium. the atmosphere never comes close to that of highbury, allways feels a bit to clean and commercial.
But that's what I said, the look of it impressed me, the seating spacing impressed me. But I was watching Muse there so the atmosphere and acoustics were spot on. Most new grounds lose the atmosphere of old, due to the new support arriving just to be there in the beginning. If we got a new stadium and all of a sudden filled it to capacity then we would have extra 10k who never really ever go now. Would not surprise me if atmosphere returns in years to come.
Experience of games at Highbury - Emirates - De Luz ( Lisbon). Highbury was a great old stadium, the North Bank a grand old end. The other two stadiums have the same design team leech sound, been to the stadium in Lisbon with England. A great stadium should be a lot more than ample arse room. The Emirates as a atmospheric stadium has a design flaw, no cracking acoustics, no obvious section for vocal support, then add sky high prices and its a recipe for a insipid day out for those who like the more visceral aspects of football.
Arsenals ground is lovely. Would rather have our ground look like that than the AV plan. Don't know why there is so much hate for bowl shaped grounds.
It isn't hate it's boredom. People want more than open, airy, clean and comfy. Cardiff this season said it all dull dull dull. Waste of money ... More atmosphere down the pub.
Cardiff has a roof. Boro has a roof. Pride Park, Ricoh .. Fans who used to make a din now!! Could be a competition for the worst fans in the championship. Arsenal have great teams and still the atmosphere is poor.
And poor design affects the way fans behave. Charlton away in an old squat stand is always good. Cardiff dead.
