    Just found this on the QPR board as I was having a browse around during a quiet spell. Seems they're after Ba and Simpson.

    Queens Park Rangers are set to meet the release clause in Demba Ba’s contract.

    Mark Hughes is eager to bolster his attacking options this summer, as he looks to avoid a repeat of last season when they escaped relegation only on the final day.

    The QPR boss is already being to accept he has little chance of persuading Tottenham Hotspur to sell Jermain Defoe, so has instead set his sights on Ba.

    The 27-year-old scored 16 Premier League goals for Newcastle United last season, and Hughes is prepared to meet the £7million release clause in his contract.

    This is optimistic like. Haha. Can't see why anyone from Newcastle in ba's calibre would want to sign for QPR barring money. If as pardew has stated, its not about money for ba then going to QPR after our respected seasons would be ridiculous. Simpson maybe but not ba. Meeting the clause allows you to talk to the player, if he actually wanted to sign for them I'd be utterly amazed.

    Money talks we've seen it all before, I'm not even saying there's any truth in this story, but some of the things that happen in football these days, it's anyone's guess.
    We've had a massive turn around in our fortunes, who's to say it can't happen to another club!

    How come the clause is now 7mill. Last I heard, the clause (which I think is bollocks anyway, or if there is one, is much bigger) was 10, but because he gets a chunk we only get 7.

    We've got 2 things over QPR. European football and a massive stadium that we are now filling. Really can't see him going to QPR to play in their shed. I think ba might leave but only for a club playing in Europe.

    Seriously though, I'd be gob smacked if ba signed for them. I mean most clubs in the league will have the ability to meet the 7mil figure.

    Liverpool will offer him £80k a week and Ba will be off.

    He'll double his money, Newcastle will get £7m (and no doubt find another gem) and within 3 days Ba will be moaning to the press about Luis Suarez.
