Couldn't agree more with this! it was very obvious watching the England Spain match that there is a massive gulf in technical skills between the English players and the Spanish. It will always be possible to win the odd game against the odds by defending robustly and scoring from breakaways, but I'm certain the probability of winning major tournaments (which surely is the England teams prime objective) is very low and the gulf in skills seems to be getting wider. Some may say they dont care if teams "win ugly" but comparing the football Spain were playing with England's approach I know which I'd rather be watching.
