Slightly sad really. Iffy was a great servant of the Gills and is one of only a small number of genuinely intelligent ex footballers. This is undoubtedly a throwaway remark which is being used to out Iffy. The Premiership is not exactly awash with Ethiopians (unlike Nigerians) yet the Ethiopian authorities seemed to expect a win. Such is life in Africa.
I hope Iffy gets a decent job back home. He did really well in the short time he was in charge between Jepson and Dimson and if Scally had given him a chance Gills would never have been in League 2.
 
He was on the telly the other week, can't remember what programme it was but they were doing a feature about black managers.

Cows on the pitch though, WTF? :laugh:
 
Very brave decision to go to Ethiopia to manage I have to say. It was clear that the facilities in Ethiopia are absolutely naff from whatever show I saw it on, he's probably better trying his hand at English football rather than losing every game with those no-hopers.

Yeah would never go there myself.
 
As a gilwho fan with links to ethiopia I think it's quite sad as he seemed to be doing a good job with the team, they were aparantly playing much better football, if not quite winning yet!
