Ok so another bad day at the office, again, but then we always tend to lose at home to the teams in the bottom 3 so we shouldn't be too surprised! I'll be interested to see what team turns up against the Hammers who IMO will be the biggest test for us this season. As for Sven, I think I'm right in saying that his contract will be up at the end of the season and for that reason alone I think that we should stick with him, that and to not give the WUMS the ultimate satisfaction. Its a hard bastard of a division is this and we will see come May WUMS Oh and to try and cheer us up........ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kUYqUoL0DmU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4coI5nERPc
well, mountain_fox, i have to agree it was def another bad day at the office. another one, of far too many bad days if im honest. yes it is a very hard div,and one i feel we are not equiped to get out of, pretty passing football is all well and good. but with it you need an end product, and some pace, and def alot of grit, steel, determination, and not least of all commitment. ooh and did i forget the ability to break down poor teams, who put 11 men behind the ball, the latter being prob the most important. the end product of all the possession we have in alot of games is poor to say the least, not to say very frustrating, along with the rubbish corners, free kicks, and general crossing into the box, when eventually we do bloody manage it. i'm not one of the sack sven brigade its a bit too early for that, but i do feel serious questions have to be asked about his ability and knowing what is needed to get us out of this league, cos one thing is for sure, if things don't change, and quickly, mid table is the best we can hope for. as things stand we are simply not good enough, promotion is along way off, and the sooner we realise that the better..................
We all want this for our football team, but no football team has all these qualities in all 38 or 46 games in a season. As is always the case at Leicester, expectations have reached silly heights, and fans have gotten carried away, in considerable numbers. When that happens, the negatives get focussed on far more than the positives (something else which, historically, has happened a lot at Leicester over the years). I know we've just come off the back of a bad result and bad performance to boot. I know we were poor at Birmingham. But have we not had enough good performances over the course of the first half of the season to suggest that we may, still, be going in the right direction? Man Utd wouldn't start calling for Sir Alex's head after a couple of bad results and performances. Neither would Chelsea, or even a team like Everton. So why do we? Desperation? A yearning for success? Or just over-inflated expectations? I don't really know the answer, but I wish it wouldn't happen every time we don't go 5 or 6 games unbeaten. Anyway, to end on a positive note, we can at least comfort ourselves with the fact that we're not Bristol City or Coventry fans...
Where is everyone belief going. Yesterday we was bad and even though the ref was awful again we can't blame then for that because we was absolutely awful in the first place I f we beat West Ham next week everyone will be saying I never doubted us and we are going to win the league. Don't get too down when we lose. Everyone plays bad and loses from time to time
thats true proud, unfortunately we tend to do it too often for a team who feel they should be up there challenging. as you say, and i agree, not one for blaming refs or whatever else may be the prob, the fact remains its down to us, and at present we are just not good enough, now whether thats the players, or sven's motivational skills is up for question, but i for one remain to be convinced on both counts........
If we are to get promoted, then it isn't good enough to 'do what we usually do'. We have to be consistent. At the moment, we aren't doing that. But how often have you seen a defeat like this galvanise a team and give everyone a kick up the arse and then go on a long unbeaten run. That's what happened after our 2-0 defeat at The Den last season. It was only one game and there is no need to get carried away. If we carry on losing games like this or go on to lose 4 on the bounce, the yes we can question our promotion credentials. But not yet.
I heard rumours even Barcelona occasionally play bad a lose aswell. Do you think they call for their managers head The championship is probably the most competitive league in the world where their is no stand out teams and gap between the top and the bottom isnt that big.
You go on about us living in the past, and you're showing re-runs from 7 years ago when you beat us.... If you're showing re-runs, why not show how we won the entire league 20 years ago, or got to the Champions league semi finals, wiping out teams like Barcelona, Milan, Roma, Depotiva etc....
