Waddo We were a shambles from start to finish.. the worst thing is, Sunderland didn't have to play that well. They just did what we coudn't do mate. KEEP the ******* ball. WHY their fans are worried I know not. A bad day at the office I'm not sure. A bad day for T.P. cos he played Delap instead of Palacios, Wilson at full back. Didn't bring on Pennant nor Pal.. until it was all over. OH and Huth gave away the most blatant peno I've seen, it must have been our lucky day, the ref didn't see it. I would like to have a word or two in T.Ps ear... along the lines of.... What the ******* HELL are you doing and, let's play for a pt v Utd next week. On todays showing Waddo and I was at the SOL. We will get a reet ole batterin next wick yowth.
Cheers Potts for the run down! I actually think mate we will take something out of next weeks game agauinst manure. As long as I can remember and I'm sure it's the same for you mate we always fail against sides that are usually playing ****e they seem to bring us down to their level! Gutted it was against Sunderland though as I can honestly say I'm not much for their fans to be honest, never gracious in defeat and always whinging! Oh well we are still 5th and in a better position than this time last year and hopefully soon TP will wake up to the fact that the likes of Diao and Delap are but distant memories of team players that used to be! Also I think that Upson and Shawcross are a better combination that Woodgate and Shawcross. Last time Woody played there we struggled against Norwich City and it was Woody that gave away the free kick that lead to the goal!
Waddo, unlike you.... Stoke weren't at the races today. I think TP really needs to look at the way he sets up the team. Perhaps we need to dispense with starting Delap 'cos it seems to me that his only contribution is with the long throw and that is not proving effective any more. Unless WP was injured then surely he should have started. Also may have been better to play Huth alongside ShawX today with Wilko at RB. I think we should give Marc Wilson a run in the midfield and perhaps use Upson at LB.
TP has to take 75% of the blame for todays result. Terrible managing.............who on this earth would have picked that side and then bought on the players he should have started when it was too late. TP you ****ed right up today!!!!!
I agree with everything you have said there mate!. If Palacious was injured why was he on the bench?. He can play or he cant play, pretty simple really.
Time TP selected his best side instead of keep bringing the old favourites out. We have the players now to destroy sides like Sunderland but he still does not know how to line them up away from home!
Waddo Not sure about the Utd game mucker? But, we can hope of course.. we certainly can not defend any worse that's for sure. Agree that UNTILL TP plays either Huth/Ryan Ryan/Upson they don't seem to know who's doing what/where and when at times. Today we got caught out. In fact, I thought keep the Mackem fans quiet for the first 20 mins sorted... well Waddo, we ****** up big time. Two of the goals were lucky but, we've had or fair share yes? Tony HAS to leave out Delap now, Palacios looked good when he came on too! But, as is the norm with T.P. it was too little too late. Off for a few beers Waddo, bring on Spurs and let's put things right on Tuesday.
Agree Potts we can turn this around Tuesday and put us back on the right track once more. Perhaps today was bit of a reality check for TP to stop us from getting too cocky! Enjoy your beers mate!
After today's debacle, I'm incredibly nervous about the next two games, against 2 teams who score for fun. I'll happily settle for two 2-0 defeats in the next 2 games.

I'm going to put my tin hat on... Wilson Palacios is not match fit yet and played on thursday so it's no surprise to me that he didn't start. According to Dave Kemp on radio Stoke, Pennant didn't start because he felt a niggle and it was thought prudent not to risk him from the start. I'm not saying Delap should have played, cos I'd have started with someone else, but there are understandable reasons why the other two didn't. I couldn't watch the first half due to a kids party, but managed to watch the second down the pub. The fact that Sunderland had taken their foot off the gas probably had something to do with it, but I thought the second half was even with neither team looking particularly threatening. All the damage was done in the first half where two deflections and an own goal cost us dear. The problem yet again though was that in the first half we let the opposition have so much possession and when we did manage to get the ball, we (a) couldn't keep hold of it, and (b) couldn't do anything with it. It's ok TP recognising we need to be better in possession, but he's got to start doing something about it. I'm not too concerned yet as today we didn't have any luck at all and its still early days, but I hope we'll be seeing less of Rory from now on like the rest of you.
Several things are concerning me.1.Matty Etheringtons form,Pennants form, and Huths attitude. I know he`s not a right back but it`s the nasty streak he`s got and sooner rather than later he`s definately going to be shown a red card.I really wish TP would just stick with Wilko at right back and maybe alternate the centre backs . I`d also like to see Shotton in the team because when he`s on he`s the sort of player who makes things happen. In midfield everyone except TP knows Rory`s had his day.The long throws just don`t work anymore,but if we needed one Shotton could provide the one and only thing Rory`s got left in his armoury.It was a shattering result today,and I just hope it was a one-off because up until todays game our defence was being touted as one of ,if not,the best in the league!! Everybody knows we`ve been riding our luck and today that ran out.I`m very fearful for next week,because Man Utd will not miss half chances like Chelsea and Liverpool did.
