Hello guys and girls, What do you think lead to the small downfall of liverpool? and what was the main reason for this? Who do you blame for this? What do you think will cause a rise of liverpool? and who/how will this happen? Thanks
What do you think lead to the small downfall of liverpool? and what was the main reason for this? Selling to buy for a club profit was what started the downfall followed by the appointment of the wrong manager at the start of the season Who do you blame for this? If we're to go right back then Rick Parry for not doing his due dilligence when selling the club to Hicks & Gillett. I don't think we can lay too much blame on Roy Hodgson because he jumped when offered the job (who wouldn't) but it was simply beyond his abilities. He tried his best but it wasn't enough. However, I do like Roy and I think he'll easily get another job in the premier league and will have relative success once employed What do you think will cause a rise of liverpool? and who/how will this happen? New owners who have done their research on the needs and beliefs of the Liverpool fans was a start, they are doing things behind closed doors and are doing a very very good job. The last transfer window saw us make a tiny net spend (less then Man Utd) but saw us strenghen our squad (yes, our squad is stronger with two decent strikers as opposed to one world class striker). I don't know of a single liverpool fan who is unhappy at the moment and with the high morale off the pitch is giving the players high morale on the pitch. We're now 3 games, 3 wins, 3 clean sheets and are playing with swagger. If we can beat Chelsea on Sunday then I think teams may start to fear us again. NESV did something that people don't do very easily. They pleased ALL of the people by appointing Kenny Dalglish. Kenny brings a positivity to the club that no-one else can. I love watching his interviews on TV, I love the been there, done that attitude he has and being a Liverpool fan now is like being a kid again. I get genuinley excited when Liverpool play and because we always play positivley I don't dwell on the result too much. Are we back? No... We need a productive summer (not just for new players but for our current players to gel as a unit) and another season and see where we are then. NESV said they have a 5 year plan to have us winning the league and with all things considered I think that plan will be a success
For me, the downfall was down to Rafa. how many of the players he bought for what 300+ mil? we're/are/did/do any good? that and getting rid of Alonso, who turned out to be the key to liverpool i don't think it's fair to blame the previous owners, they gave the manager money and supported him in his buys, tactics etc If the new managers gave Kenny the same amount they gave Rafa you'd think their amazing and praise what their doing for the club. Liverpool were one of the biggest and most loved clubs in the world, and with the amount of money spent you could of had a team full of world class stars and youngsters with very high potential.
Not much point explaining it all to you, then. Really, had enough of the cliches. http://tomkinstimes.com/2010/11/mid-range-madness/ That's right. Hicks and Gillett called Rafa into the boardroom, threw a suitcase down on the table with ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã300m in it and Rafa went and spent it all on Voronin, Degen and Dossena. http://tomkinstimes.com/2010/10/the-truth-on-hicks-benitez’s-spending/ Think Houllier left a better squad than Rafa? http://tomkinstimes.com/2010/06/please-mr-hansen-check-your-facts/ Get reading then come back and present your counter-arguments.
