Someone's just posted this interesting stuff Yes folks its that time again..... Foundation Tip Of Lunch First and foremost, foundation goes from strength to strength, everyone deserves massive credit for the work they do! Here goes....hope I aint forgot anything! Trying to bring players in, everyone knows we need left winger, spoke to Man City last week regarding Johnson, not looking likely as going to be in Citys 25 man squad but at least six other players available from them. We started looking at Bosman deals in jan, wouldnt be doing his job if never, always knew which players were coming 2 Man Utd lads massive signings for us, experience the lot, at least 3 other clubs wanted them, shows how far we came in 2 yrs to be able to attract them Mags game will only be a good time if we win and he's due one!!! Frazier Campbell back March at earliest Read reports about injuries, training wrong etc, every single one done in game Our target remains top 10 but to improve, more consistancy, cup runs etc 7th position, injury free, good start why not. Previosuly Fulham, Bolton, Blackburn etc but higher than that unlikely with the way top clubs spent etc 2 years ago we stayed up last game of season, improvement in such short space is good Wickham and Don Wong for future but both look very exciting Nzgobia, biggest target in last 18 months, confident we would get him but trebled wages at Villa from Wigan and deal became too rich, gutted but move on, would have had to smash our wage structure which wasnt possible. Looked everywhere for left winger but very few about of good quality, we are looking everywhere.... any idea's? Cattermole will remain captain Lynch, Knott, Adams, Laing one's to keep eye on. Knows team to take field against Liverpool in his head, Mignolet will keep shirt for time been, Westwood had to be brought in as Gordon out till Sept at best then its a fight between 3 Doesnt like to name side on Wednesday as other players become downbeat so fineline on keeping players happy etc, working on set pieces Hardest Player ever to work with - Cisse at BRUM Barton best mag player last season, if concentrated on football top drawer, huge loss, massive mentality in derby games last season, hopefully we got similar mentailitys now. Bellamy - Interested if available, something look at towards end of window Onuoha wants to stay near manchester, personal reasons, keep trying on welbeck but looking unlikely Vaughan, could be shining light this season, outstanding at blackpool We were shocking at set pieces, Larrson will improve us, massive threat Mid season slump -8 games and against top 6 with half a first team, you learn things and try to make sure wont happen again Henderson - shocked at size of bid, had to accept, look at what we brought in Cant just keep spending and spending, we sold Henderson, reinvested, they sold Carroll, nothing went back out As a manager always want more and will keep asking but bond between fans and club is brilliant, with Quinny and Short etc. Malbranque, wanted longer contract as kids at school, we couldnt offer him one, his family back in france so always likely he would go back. The pitch is seeded (for those that were there wlll get this one) Hope the exciles enjoyed. P.S FTM the futures bright its red and white Interesting stuff especially about Bellamy and Man City with atleast 6players available I wonder who these players are and if we are sniffing around any of them I would imagine ther SWP, Jo, Adebayor, Santa Cruz, Bellamy and Onuoha cannot realy think of any others. Would love Bellamy as the final striker brought into the pack but we need a left winger desperately lets hope we get one
Sorry but i wish that was Bruce talking to me i would have kicked his ass and told him where he was going wrong. Keep away from Man City unless its johnson or SWP. Bellamy FFS is no better than Barton little Welsh trouble making Bastard Ok sold Henderson good deal and reinvested. But the bent money is still available. Malbranque great bloke but we move on.
and relegated, the 2nd worse signing of the window IMO. oh yes. ho hummmmmmmm reality check. don't give a ****, sign him bruce. come on catts.......
Sounds good. I think we'll push the boat out for a winger and striker myself but not till nearer deadline day. Happy.
How do we know Bent money is still available? Might have been used to balance the books? We're all living in a tight financial climate at the moment. Who knows? All I'm saying is that we can't ssume it's just sitting there unspent.
Dont want to upset the hoardes (really), but lets say he came from man u.. just my opinion but i think we've got a stinker (but i wont name him, as its my opinion). Everyone has there best favorite transfers of the window, so you have to place them in some kind of order. my favorite is gardner.............. how would you place them?
Vaughan will be a cracking player. The kind of steady influence we need in depth and what we lacked in spades last 2 years. Catts, Colback and Vaughan competing for the central holding player. No-one can be lackadaisical these days at SAFC. AJ a pipe dream but until the window closes this month, I'll keep hoping. Bellamy is a no brainer for me and I've said it 100's of times. Can play that left midfield role, or up front with equal ease and would bring a huge slice of pace and winning mentality to the team. Who cares if he is a little ****e, if he's our little ****e I'd be a happy bunny. We have desperately needed this change in mentality at the club for years. PS â Comachio if youâre referring to Brown or O Shea, youâre a mile wide. You canât buy the kind of experience and know how that these 2 bringâ¦â¦..well, you can buy it actually and we did. Whereas Bramble and Turner often show their lack of judgment and culture, a couple of players who SAF rates highly enough to play over 250 times for him each, is more than good enough for SAFC mate IMO. Personally, I donât think there is a stinker in ANY of his summer buys and considering he bought 8 new faces, thatâs remarkable. Muhammady still has a lot to prove to me but he didnât cost the earth and we would get a return if we moved him on in another year due to his age.
Very impressed with Vaughan at Burnley tried his heart out and beat Blackpools Adams for Player of the season. My opinion worst signing so far Brown and from what i saw of Whickham he has a lot and i mean a lot to prove. Di Jon Wong also impressed me at Burnley Out of our players from last season Sess and Colbeck are by far the ones in form at the moment
OP thanks good read, pity about Johnston and I do like ****tyWhitePants. I still think our best bet is overseas for striker and LW as I think we will cannot pay the wages of someone coming from top 5 club and I'm sure if we want anybody else who is not as good.
I'm pleased that it seems as though he had some sort of plan, it looked like we were signing anyone who happened to be on a free!
I think Brown will be a revelation here, and will surprise quite few people. (my tip for player of the season next season) Obviously if he is injured all the time (which i dont think he will be) i will hold my hands up and say i was wrong. just look at frazier though, out nearly 2 years with an injury, when he comes back will you support him or say get rid as he is injury prone?
Please let’s not do what every commentator said we would do and give Wickham a hard time. He is 18 years old and was being chased by a host of top clubs. He is being hailed as the next big thing in English football and he chose us over Liverpool. He has a lot to learn but physically and mentally he is ready. He just needs all of us to encourage him and support him not start to sow seeds of doubt. I remember when we signed SKP he didn’t have any kind of pre season high light but he didn’t do so badly did he in his first season.
But when we bought Campbell he wasn't injury prone, and he's shown gleaming spotlights of brilliance. However, Brown is IMO a pretty mediocre player and has shown himself to be injury prone. But I will support them both, of course.
I reckon if we do not get another experienced striker in it will be bad for the two young lads and worse for Wickham as he cost more. They both will need time to find their feet so to speak. That is another reason why we need another experienced pro forward to take the heat off the two young recruits as otherwise they may well get thrown in the deep end. £8m is a lot of money and expectations will be high because of it. I have not seen Whicham play live yet (maybe on the TV, but its not the same) but until I do and he gets time to learn his trade we need to keep off his back.
without pissing on your chips cest, we were the only one's to make a serious bid for young connor, and i for one am happy to see him sign, but whats the point is he aint gonna be used? give him time, slowly slowly, ****ing kidding me,£8m to sit on a bench. hardly the youngest to play in the big time. get him in get him playing...........£8m for a ****ing lemon, play him...instant hero i hope................
But Sess was thrown in at the deep end in becoming a striker, and now it looks like he'll be one of our top goalscorers this season!
