http://www.westlondonsport.com/features-comment/swans-close-to-hoilett-deal-and-remy-wants-to-join-arsenal-reports OK, the original story comes from the Sun but, if we can get his wages down a bit (reports at the beginning of the year put him on 50k a week), he could be a good signing...
I's hate to be paying that sort of wages. My only concern is that he's had two successive relegation's with Blackburn and QPR, don't want him to be a Jonah and him to get his hat-rick.
I think that would be a good signing (wages aside), he's young, quick and can play on the wing or up top. Also counts as home grown for europe. If true a great signing for us.
Im not sure about this player, as mentioned above if he was so good then why has he been relegated twice? had a good season at Blackburn in fairness but done nothing with QPR. can strike a shot and that's what we seem to be missing but is there something in his game doesn't make him a team player ? The only advantage of signing him is that he is British, but I think he is no different to what we have already.
Hes Canadian and hes been toilet all season. He doesnt have the heart or effort. Just prefers to coast along. He wasnt even in the squad yesterday so hes sure to leave, no one will be sorry to see him leave.
When he was at Blackburn he really stood out...electric pace, great dribbling skills, prepared to take a shot. However, I never understood how a kid with 1 good season under his belt...somebody I would consider as potentially a top class player....had so many clubs lining up to chuck money at both he and Blackburn. I've barely noticed him at QPR this year, but then they are a very poorly organised, unmotivated, "team". On his potential I'd take him but only at the right price. Transfer fee: I'd expect to get stung for a young HG qualified kid (with Premier potential) for £6-8 million....lots of suitors I imagine Wages: He must accept £25-30k a week (feels ridiculous writing that sentence!)....if there aren't many suitors QPR would have to pick up a chunk of his wages if they want the transfer fee and the space on the wage budget to help assemble a promotion winning team.
I agree with you, has struggled to get in a bad QPR side. He is on ridiculously inflated wages for a player of his ability. we can do a lot better than him. Mind you he wasnt in the squad yestreday as he was injured. I dont want him.
Canadian ?? then a definite no !!... Does that mean he doesn't count as homegrown ?? im getting confused now!
QPR have said they will not pay any portion of wages if a player is sold or loaned so the choices are pay his over inflated salary, hes going to have to take a wage cut or he will go elsewhere. Same thing will happen with sinclair when he leaves City, hes paid way too much for his ability so the same choices will apply.
Yeah he's homegrown because he was with Blackburn from a young age and did his 3 years to qualify before the age of 21. Same reason Cristiano ronaldo counts as Home grown here because he was with Utd.
He was relegated from the German top flight while on loan at Paderborn as well as Blackburn and QPR. 3 relegations in 4 seasons! However, he was excellent last season with Blackburn....had the most dribbles in the Prem and 7 goals from the wing, some assists also.....he was named by FIFA in January 2012 as one of the 13 youngsters in World football to watch....and after waiting out his contract at Blackburn signed for QPR over more glamorous clubs presumably because he expected to be an important part of their team. They've only given him 22 appearances (2 goals and assists) I think he is young and talented, IF he has a professional attitude and IF he is hungry enough (ie. take less money to see some action in the Prem with us) I'd take him. I forgot that Blackburn turned down silly offers for him and he ended up as a tribunal case...would be interesting to know what figure the tribunal came to as that would be my opening bid.
I was referring to his status of being homegrown or not. Nothing wrong with Canada, its very beautiful I hear. I thought that him being Canadian meant that he would not be classed as homegrown but he is
I still prefer Cristiano . Would be great to see him at The Liberty. Considering we have been in the Premiership for two seasons I havent seen one away player produce a world class performance.
