Counting our blessings. The guy looked nothing short of pure class today imo.

Rarely seen as bright a light on the left since we signed Dave Thomas from Burnley all those years ago.

Only 22 and looks and plays as mature a game as can be.

Totally right Brix, our one shining light ( though I thought Park was another good one)

Hoilett looked really good, caused them constant problems throughout the first half in particular

He got plenty of the ball in the first half and looked a gem but for some reason our players constantly looked for Mickie in the second half and Hoilett hardly saw the ball at all. Strange

Hoilett looked very good today to me at least.

The problems were "only" Green, the back four, and Cisse isolated up front.

Adel was ok, he tried and was excellent on occasion.

I thought he looked pants, just a younger SWP. Always gets in the good positions and then does nothing with it. Still, its only one game.

Couldn't agree more, Brix. He was great today and is a terrific prospect. Not fair to judge the other 3 new boys at this early stage, save to say that Park had a good but not exceptional game and I'm not sure he's a dominant enough personality to be captain. But we're not spoiled for choice.

How many chances did he create and how many saves did he force?

Course he wasn't Andy. Flyer watches and comments on everything on fast forward - so imo misses some of the subtlety. Not knocking him though, I enjoy his contributions enormously - but there's a reason his old running mate Igor calls him bully boy!

    Oh...you're wrong!!
Hoilett was one of the few who impressed. So close with that first half effort that didn't quite have the curl on it!! Park looked classy too...not sure he's Captain material though, not sure I saw him encouraging anyone all game!

´adel was ok?????´.......sorry to ruffle a few feathers on here but Adel was poor apart from the first 15 mins. After that the amount of times he wasted free-kicks and gave the ball away was frustrating to say the least. He gave the ball away that led to Dyer´s goal and what was even more unforgivable was that he just let Dyer get the wrong side of him and left him to score. In my eyes he is very lazy and petulant still!!!!. Let´s hope it was a bad day at the office for everyone, apart from Hoilet and Park, they stood out but then that wasn´t too difficult.

First half did really well but faded. Such was his good start I got the impression we were constantly looking for him. I guess Hughes said to look for variety at half time and we overcompensated through Mackie. Better still to come I believe.

I thought the whole midfield looked very comfortable on the ball in the first half and there was some quality passing.

The stats gave us 55% up to that point which is good for us (especially against a passing team).

Agree that Hoilett looked dynamic and Park made a lot of interceptions.

I won't comment on the second half....

Yeah we performed like crap in the second half - and Park put in a sterling job for the most part - but on today's showing Junior's going to be a real star R!
