Pellecori & Alberti, Paladini & Briatore...sounds like the cosa nostra... What have we done to deserve this??? A question I've asked just about every day since May...
Smoke, fire, storm clouds... We keep talking about the need for players. Alberti may be a bit ok but he's coming out of the Italian lower leagues. Might as well get Balanta and German back. Fact is, even a full set of good players doesn't make a winning team. It takes a quality manager fully backed by the owners to do that. At the moment, that seems so unlikely. Smoke, fire, storm clouds... what are the chances of them turning in on each other, putting the fire out and leaving Warnock to emerge from the sodden debris onside and with contract intact? About the same as Briatore realising how football clubs work, taking his hands off the wheel and leaving the driver to drive (to completely abuse a metaphore!) imo.
