The 32-year-old's contract was due to expire this summer but they have decided to part ways early. Arca has been dogged by a toe injury this season which has limited him to just one league appearance, and he has not played at all in 2013. Arca joined Boro from local rivals Sunderland in 2006 and made over 150 appearances during his time on Teesside. A Boro spokesman told the Evening Gazette: "We've cancelled Julio's contract, which is due to expire this summer, by mutual consent to enable him to return to Argentina to further his rehabilitation." Boro boss Tony Mowbray added: "We'd like to thank Julio for all his years of service and we wish him well." Bring him back here!!!
Not as a player but I'd take him back to work as part of the backroom staff working with second string or the wingers. One of the best technically gifted players I've ever seen wear red and white, alongside Steed.

Julio was my favourite player as a youngster following SAFC. All the best to him, such a top bloke too.
His heart belongs to Sunderland. He's always been supportive of us since he left, so you never know we may see him back here in some role.

Can't remember which match but I once saw him when he first came here, bring down a lump ball and control it perfectly. The attacker then ran at him whilst he was still standing there and Julio used the outside of his foot to spin the ball around the attacker then collected the ball and ran the length of the pitch with it glued to his foot!!! The guy was mint. Just noticed he only got in 150 games for the smoggies, bloody hell that's less than half possible isn't it? You definitely go with my best wishes mate.
