that must have taken him about 4 seconds. That's the end of the road for appeals etc, if they want to go around arguing any more they can do it on their own time/money.
According to OS they have now just 7 days to put in an appeal. There must be more to this than meets the eye. Have they got a backer behind them (another supermarket chain?)
yep, the judge has refused their appeal. TRASH has now 2 options. 1) appeal to the 'court of appeal' against the judges decision today to refuse their appeal. if they want to do this then they need to do it by 4pm on 2nd april. 2) dont appeal. meaning its all over and rovers/sainsburys and common sense win. appealing to the 'court of appeal' will cost a lot of money and TRASH dont have the funds based on what they have done to get funds from the locals. unless there is a backer that they havent told us about. see p49 comment above about that! would be pretty annoying that a party who is against supermarkets, would take money from a supermarket to fund their appeals!! couldnt make it up could you!
I think they are such sad bitter scum they probably know they won't win but will appeal out of spite.
From todays Post regarding yesterdays appeal being refused........ A Bristol City Council spokesman said: “We are pleased to hear that permission to appeal has been refused. Although there is now another week in which TRASHorfield can appeal this finding, we hope that they will accept what are two very clear decisions.” A Bristol Rovers spokeswoman said: "We are extremely pleased that Mr Justice Hickinbottom has made a quick response to TRASH and refused them the permission to appeal. We are also glad he has set down time limit for them to go to the Court of Appeal, as this will ensure this matter can be dealt with quickly as possible and prevent any further delay to the project." Bristol Mayor George Ferguson said: "I am disappointed that TRASHorfield had made the decision to appeal in the first place and very unwise now leaving the club in further limbo. I shall be meeting Nick Higgs tomorrow, when I was hoping he would have the all clear to proceed with the new stadium." Diana Scrafton, Director and spokeswoman for TRASHorfield has said: "The judge’s refusal was expected and that I could not comment on whether the group would now make an application to the Court of Appeal." So they waited until the last day to appeal wasting our time and money, knowing full well the appeal was going to be rejected just to delay things by a further week. Just pure delay tactics.
