How dare someone at the age of 29 move to a club where they're more likely to win things and will be paid more. A handful of players really care about their club and to expect Van Persie to just keep waiting for Arsenal to match his ambition is a bit naive. £24m is a great deal.
that would all be well and good if he hadnt lied his tits of when he said this. "anything we win here would come from my heart and thats what i want. " but from the wallet is also acceptable obviously. " i want to win trophies with Arsenal NOT anyone else." really ?
I agree with Watford R to a degree but at the same time you have to see it from our point of view. A player that has had one outstanding season in 8 with the rest of that time spent on the medical table and loyalty shown by his manager during times when fans were screaming sell sell is a bit hard to take for some gooners (understandably so) I'm more of a realist and as the saying goes no one player is bigger than the club. We will move on and we will progress even without RVP. I'm not that bothered that he has gone to United as they have a great history and if I had the choice between City or United I'd take United every time. The challenge he'll face there is one of huge expectation even more so than he faced at Arsenal. How will he handle the pressure? Time will tell. How will United cope if he gets injured? Ag.ain time will tell. All I know is I am looking forward to our game against them in the coming season.
I dont care about him going, that was always on the cards but , to them . to THEM ? ! You dont realise how much i hate United. far more than i hate spurs.
And when he does get fit off he goes. Talk is cheap, actions speak louder than words. As mentioned on another thread time to get a team who play for the shirt as much for the money. Up the Arse!!
We may call RVP a Judas but what do people think of Cazorla,Podolski and Giroud who left other clubs to join us
They didn't join a club in the same league as their former club so that point is moot. edit: Got there before me Jack.
Are you seriously saying that none of us would be bothered if he'd gone to a team abroad.I seem to remember "Flamoney" getting a load of abuse when he went to Milan
I have already said many times the best thing would be for him to end up at Juventus, after his letter. No one is going to feel too betrayed by a 29 year old going to another place with a higher chance for trophies. As for Flamini... i think it was just too unexpected, whereas RvP has been flirting with a move for a while now.
Are you seriously saying RVP would still have been called Judas if he went to a team like Juventus? Wow... just wow.
