Don't you feel sorry for him? Can't get into a team that's almost relegated. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...ce-begs-angry-Aston-Villa-outcast-Darren-Bent
Grass isn't always greener & all that. Got two years left on his contract at Villa, coming up to 30 years old & on a high wage, can't see there being many suiters for him unless Villa accept a major loss & him a major pay cut. Personally would like to see him rot in the Villa reserves then end up playing League 2 football in a couple of years time. Then if we get that team in a cup game we can all point & laugh at him.
Why did he not stay here?, I would have him back tomorrow, if he is fit and dedicated to us for 3 seasons or more because we need a player like him right now.
We don't need ANY player like him now or in the future. Bastards are bastards and Bent is a prize one and is getting his just desserts.
Benteke was a lucky buy for Villa, the money they'll generate from his sale to Spurs when United buy Bale will cover the awful loss they'll make on Bent, when he goes to West Ham this summer. On the contrary though, I reckon Villa will push on next season. They're starting something half-decent by the look of things, it was vital that they stayed up or it could have went very wrong.
I agree Terry, all the young players will be better for their experience this year and I can only see them improving next season.
You can't surely believe that? Lowton, Bennett, Clark, Wiemann, Agbonlahor, Delph and even at times N'Zog have improved beyond recognition as the seasons gone on, Villa's financial woes and having to play kids may actually turn out to be a massive blessing. They will start next season together, unified, with experience, and confidence from survival, they will be nowhere near the drop, even without Benteke. They needed him this year, they will be better all round next.
