Asamoah Gyan looks to have no future at Sunderland after revealing he has had no contact with the club since joining UAE side Al-Ain on loan last summer.

Gyan, 26, switched to Al-Ain on a short-term basis last September after a fall-out with then Sunderland manager Steve Bruce.

The striker had been expected to resume his Stadium of Light career at the end of his current loan deal, with Martin O'Neill now at the helm, but says he is still waiting to hear from officials at the club.

"I haven't spoken to anybody [from Sunderland] since I've been here," Gyan told Sport360. "I heard the manager wanted to call me, I waited for his call but no call came… I am still here."

Al-Ain have already expressed their desire to keep hold of Gyan on a permanent basis, with chief executive Carlo Nohra admitting last month that the Ghanaian is keen to prolong his stay in the Middle East.

"I'm very confident that he will be staying," Nohra told said. "He has indicated on a number of occasions that he would like to remain at the club."

Poor attempt to smear Bruce Bill, very poor. You admit we don't know the full story but you know its Bruce's fault. He fell out with Bruce it says suggesting Bruce was the problem, Bruce is gone but he is not coming back suggesting its not Bruce.

Would realy like the truth, Bent supposidly left for a bigger club, underlying elements suggest....Bent and Brucies daughter, now Gyans frontmen are saying a fallout with Bruce, As for besmirching Bruce, he dont need my help. He said it himself, it was because he was a Geordie. Well hello so was Bob Stokoe. I know you are pro Brucie, But my freedom of choice allows me to be anti. and I am now. So If you dont mind Syd. I will post as I see it. By the way I didnt write the article, just made an observation as I saw it. And stand by it. Think you should re read the thread.

I'm not pro Bruce Bill, a fallacy because I did not join in with the abuse and of course you have every right to give an opinion and like you, I say it as I see it.

On your advice I have indeed re read the article and draw the same conclusions. By the way Bruce never said he was sacked for being a Geordie, never.

I have never once thought Bent left for more money, and, still dont. Bent has shown right throughout his career he never stays long at any club and as soon as interest is shown then he's off. He craves the attention, the feeling of being wanted, the big transfers. Being somebodys number 1 and having all the hype around him is what Darren Bent is all about.

Gyan on the other hand, is an over-rated, talentless, money grabbing tw*t, who I suspect will never be heard of again in any sort of competitive football and from what I have heard and read will probably never play for his country again either.

We won't know for sure what happened with either of these people if anything at all. In my opinion Bruce had a part to play in both Bent and Gyan going he could easily have said no you are staying to both. Gyan I think will stay in UAE and we'll move on to hopefully better.

    The simple fact remains.

Cana was bought and left in strange circumstances after a year. Bent was bought and declared a desire to leave after a year. Gyan was bought and left after a year. All three were allowed to just walk away without a fight or an attempt to keep them. In fact, it was as if all 3 were hurried out of the club for some reason.

How many other clubs have bought 3 top players and have them want away in less than 12 months? If it were just about money, then there would be 7 or 8 other clubs in the same boat as us but I don't know of ANY other club that has sold its 2 best strikers in such a way and its best midfielder. Other clubs fight tooth and nail to keep their best players. We just let them go. Other clubs then replace the sold ones. We decided not to bother. Both of these mistakes are 100% down to the manager. Can you imagine MON allowing Short to sell players from under him? Or sell them then not allow replacements? **** me, even Pardew gets to replace sold players and he was in the job 5 mins.

The only obvious answer is lies partly with what both Bent and Gyan have intimated that all was not well behind the scene's and the performances under Bruce would support that theory. Its all conjecture of course and Bruce supporters will poo-poo this and offer far too simplistic answers to an on going issue.

Bruce did everything but state he was sacked for being a Geordie but its complete naivety to suggest this is not exactly what he meant by his constant, whining blather since he left. He did want to weight his sacking towards this rather than admit it was all about his ****e results and the team collapses.

Agreed with Bill and to me you're one of the most knowledgeable posters on here <ok>

Just to put something out there, could Short also be keen to do these deals considering the money that comes in. After all, people don't realise that under Bruce's transfer dealings, our income was higher then our expenditure.

I am not really sure we will ever know what really went on. I think Cana left because Meyler was getting in the team ahead of him. Bent left because Gyan and Welbeck were a better combination and he thought going to Villa would improve his international prospects.

Gyan is the strange one out of the 3. The way he left (so late after the window), and where is went (an unknown club almost). The money could explain a lot but I genuinely think there is more to it than money. Was Bruce to blame?? who knows, its strange that we went from a superb side doing very well in the league to relegation material in such a short space of time. Things were good under Bruce for a while, something changed who know what. It does seem a little strange that it coincided with Quinn stepping down shortly after too.

I just hope its all sorted out now and MON sorts out the squad this summer and takes us on to bigger and better things.

All things considered, and looking from every angle I can. Its still not workable out. Why would we let a player [ our goal scorer ] leave, to go to a sand dancing climate. then we struggle to score enough goals to keep us safe. Fortunately MoN was brought in, otherwise. WE . In my opinion, would have been relegated a long time ago.

Question. who made those daft decisions in the first place.

Cana left because he had an agreement in his contract that if a club in the champions league made an offer equal to what we paid we had to accept it.
