With Kayal out for the rest of the season is it worth us looking at Juarez again? For me, when he first signed he looked one of our better players at the start of last season, think he even scored in a european qualifier. He seemed to lose his way after going away for international duty and getting in trouble their going out on the piss. I also believe he was not helped by playing a game as a holding centre midfielder, next game right midfield and the next game right back - think the same could be said of Ledley when he first signed and played in similar positions but on the left side. Ledley soon cemented a regular place in the side but Juarez was in & out the side & eventually not even on the bench. I think he's a cracking player for the middle of the park, plenty of energy and a decent touch on him. Good, hard tackler with some pace to get forward. For me we have Ki, Ledley & Wanyama who can play central midfield, Brown at a push! Can't see who else would want him on loan & be surprised if we got rid without trying to recoup something so they lad has 6months to prove himself here or to gain a move elsewhere. I feel though that Lennon has an issue with the guy, be it attitude, discipline...I don't think you can doubt the guy can play & could do a decent job for us.
My thoughst exactly Brum... Why not get him back to see what he can do - unless as you say him n Lennon have had a fall out.
I thought he looked very promising at first but then seemed to go off the boil. To me, it appeared that he began to lose confidence...or maybe it was a lack of commitment? Whatever was going on it did seem that Neil Lennon didn't rate him but I think it might be worth giving him another chance.
As I said think he was shifted around the team and played 3 different positions in the first 5 games! Hardly ideal when you've moved from Mexico to Scotland and trying to settle at a new club, city, country..... He came back from the international break after an incident occurred and didn't really play much after that, bar the odd game.
We have better players, that's his problem not good enough, Ledley, Kayal, Ki, Brown, Victor and McCourt all perform better in the middle of the park. We got stung it happen to all teams we need to try and move him on for his and our own sake.
You could be right - being shifted around positions so early probably did not help his confidence in settling in. His loan deal doesn't appear to have worked for him either though so one wonders what's going on with him.
Did he not get the hump about 3 weeks after joining because it was rumoured Arsenal wanted him and he apparently asked Lennon for a move? If its true then i cant blame Lennon for getting rid. Ive not seen enough of him to mak an assessment on whether he is good or not - but when stuck last season Lennon never bothered calling on him. He clearly didnt do enough in training to convince Lennon he deserved a try. The fact he's not getting a game elsewhere leads me to believe he's either not good enough or has a ****e attitude.
Disagree that Brown & McCourt are better in the middle - as a 2 that is & with Kayal out are think we are slightly thin on midfielders who can stick a foot in. Long term I agree that Lenny will **** him off but the club can't simply write off £1m and pay out his contract. I think he can provide cover and put himself in the shop window for a move in the summer as I'm not sure who is going to come in for him on a permanent or loan deal.
No he said Barcelona had come back in for him (he used to play for them) but he turned them down as he realised he wouldn't get first team football.......which is why he left them the first time!! Must admit he reminds me abit of you Anport - probably a right ****
