It has now become clear that Mr James Bullard is actively seeking to find a new deal at another football club. This news will be well recieved by many Hull City fans and indeed the manangement of the club. While Mr Bullard will claim that quality of life (expectency?) issues are at the forefront of his mind let us not be fooled, as always the financial aspects will be as big a consideration as any other. The problem for poor mr Bullard is that he is only likely to recieve an offer of McShane type wages were he to join another club. While many of our first team players and mere mortals such as ourselves can only dream of such riches, not so Mr Bullard. For JRB two years of McShane type wages would leave him short of just over 2 million quid. This is not exactly a small amount of money by anyones standards and it is said that JRB has no desire to reduce himself to McShane type wages. Mr Bullard is said to be happy with the terms and conditions of his current contract he would just like to play football at another club in another part of the country and not be too far out of pocket. It has been suggested that mr Bullard would be seeking between one third and up to half of any shortfall in his next contract, wherever that may be. To sever his links with the club. A ball park figure would be somewhere between 750k- 1 Million pounds to effect a release. This is a similair amount to that which Phil Brown recieved (some of the best money the club ever spent IMO). It may gall many Hull City fans that Mr Bullard may go waltzing off to another club in the summer with a cheque for the thick end of a million quid in his trackie top pocket. Many may feel that this is not right at all, but bear this in mind. Since the end of last season he has taken over two million pounds in wages and has two more years left on his contract. Given the amount of effort and football the club got for that 2 million quid it does start to look like a value for money solution. The other options would include. 2 years in the reserves. 2 years gardening leave. 2 seperate one year loan deals for whatever money you could get. Tell him to get the shirt on that he's paid to wear, get out on the pitch(lead the other lads out while your about it) Pay him to fek off, regardless of where he goes or is going. Does anyone have any thoughts on this or any other solutions? Now his loan deal with Ipswich is up it would seem the right time to sort this out as a matter of urgency. Mr Bullard earns in excess of 5 thousand pounds a day while a solution is sought. Time for Hull City to cut their losses and come to a deal IMO.
I think TWF is the son of Duffen or something, must be some reason why he spouts such negative ****e about the Pearsons all the time
Given that JRB is not going to be sacked as many were hoping, and if we take it to be true he is seeking a deal elsewhere. How much do posters on here think the club should pay JRB to be rid of him once and for all? Clue, the correct answer is not fek all.
I think, as you already posted elsewhere, that the lower the "ããã's goodbye", the better for the club! But, unfortunately, I think it will be in the region of ã2 - ã2.5 million. If it means he goes somewhere he wants to be, then it will be a good outcome for all concerned!
Don't you feel Jewell's Ipswich should pay some good part of it? OK - we want rid and will probably have to cough up get rid. Ipswich, however, WANT him and should show their keenness (concentrated into a fat cheque!)
Should it happen this way then I would guess the finer details would be shrouded in confidentiality clauses. I would hope it is less than the figure you have suggested sagegee and is probably dependent on the next deal he is offered. With promotion and relegation issues for next years premiership not yet settled we may have to wait a short while longer for the outcome to this sorry saga. Unless of course JRB recieves a call from a lady slurring the words "let's be aving yer" down the phone at him.
If Bullard does not get a "wedge" he will not settle for ã20k per week from any other team . So, even if we were to get a fee for him, I believe, we would have to hand it over "lock, stock and barrel" to him, for him to go!
Ipswich have just had a ã2.3M offer for Billy Sharp turned down. If they want Bullard and want to pay him reduced wages they should give us at least some of that cash to use for his payoff. They get Bullard on a sensible contract with no ongoing expense. Bullard gets a payoff to make up the shortfall. If a PL club came in and offered to pay all his wages we'd let him go for free so the deal would be the same for us as doing that.
