McLeish has just been sacked from the Scotland Manager’s job. Will JR be in the frame to replace him. What other decent Scotch managers are around right now. They usually go for a Jock. If we go up will he want to try the Championship or will he go for the top job in Scottish football. Maybe it’s too soon for him but he must be in with a decent shout at the job. Hope we don’t lose him.
The time is now to stick with a manager and see where a bit of continuity gets us. Despite some people keen to have a go at him the points tally this season should be/have been sufficient for us to finish comfortably in the top 2. I for one don't want change.
The usual suspects will be mentioned, Walter Smith, Strachan, Moyes etc. I reckon Moyes will get it this time. Don't think Ross would go for it even if he was offered it. Not at this stage in his management career.
He's gone on record saying it's the job he wants. If they offer him it he will take it. Football is a funny game he may not get the chance again.
I doubt he’d go. If he did, it’s a shame cos he’s doing a great job, but it wouldn’t kill us. Straight in for Bowyer.
In the Northern Echo this morning he said his focus was on the job here. He was enjoying it and had a lot more to do here.
It wouldn't be the end of the world if he left. Can't imagine he's even on the Scottish FA's radar at the moment. He's achieved **** all.
I hope so. All those jocks need to share our pain. At least it will only cost them his inflated salary. His first press conference might be a good laugh too
Jock managers must have two essential characteristics. 1] they must be miserable bastards. 2] They must massively underachieve, with occasional causes for optimism. If that isn't David Moyes in a nutshell, I don't know what is. Jack fails on point 1] so he won't even get an interview!
The OP was paranoid about the same issue just a few weeks into the season. https://not606.com/threads/ross-for-scotland-manager.366582/
Can't see him jumping into the Scotland job right now. Just made a move to England and he has a nice set-up (under the media radar) as he re-builds what should be a massive club. He does well here and the football world (not just Scotland) is his oyster...
Me anarl. I genuinely think what Westminster has planned will massively undermine British democracy. Still, let's not go there. Enjoying the Brexit-free peace and quiet ATM...
Can't see it happening, don't think either end would be interested but especially not them. I know Ross sees it as the peak of his career but he's got a lot of work to do at Sunderland and I'd be very surprised if he didn't want to follow through on that. From their point of view they'll be looking a couple of leagues higher than league one.
Sorry that’s bollocks. What he said was that his ultimate ambition is to manage Scotland but he has a long way to go before that, and he’s also dismissed it out of hand.
Thing is, whilst I agree strChan is a poor manager, Scotland generally don’t have a crop of decent players which can be moulded into a good team. They’re just poor. No manager will change that
