I just tuned into the Beeb football site to see how Argyle are doing and nearly passed out at the score Argyle 2 - 0 Swindon. Not only that but Plym was asking who would score if Reid was not playing tonight. Allessandra for the first which is no shock but the second scorer is for me. Bleddy Smalley who I questioned even being called a pro footballer after the evidence of last Saturday. I cannot believe he scored and can only think he was standing in the 6 yard box picking his nose when the ball hit him and bounced in. I refuse to believe he did anything to assist the ball between the posts deliberately. Either that or somebody is pretending to be Smalley who is tied up in the dressing room in a cupboard.

Just done a double take to make sure I wasn't dreaming and it's now 3 - 0 and half time. I have to be honest that despite my prediction score I really thought they would get dicked tonight.

Hello, I've been reading this forum on and off for a couple of years but recently I haven't been able to view as a guest, whether there was a problem with the forum or something wrong at my end I'm not sure. Anyway I've taken the plunge and signed up and everything seems to be working now. I'll try not to bother you too much but as an exile I like to try to keep abreast of goings on at the club. Things seem to be going very well tonight, are Swindon playing their youth team?

If you've been watching us over recent times then you will know there have been idiot issues on here. If you are one of them then I doubt you will bother us for long. If you are genuine then bother away and welcome. I never took much notice of "guest" until they made me a Mod but now I can't take my eyes off them and it's like having a secret stalker. Spooky.......I think I'm getting paranoid now and have to check under the bed before I can get off to sleep.

Just back from HP having braved the rain with approx another 2600 who were entertained pretty well for 90 mins. Much better than Saturday with Sheridan matching Swindon with a 3-5-2 formation. From Alessandra's clinical finish on 4 minutes right through to his exceptional goal just before half time Argyle totally dominated the first 45 mins. The only down side was Thomas needing treatment in the medical room having suffered from an apparent asthma attack (or something similar). Swindon played some neat passing football but without much end product and were outplayed by the greens.

As expected Swindon came out strongly in the second half but having survived the first 15mins it looked like it would be a fairly comfortable win but as usual we nearly contrived to throw it away. A needless and rash challenge which the ref adjudged to be inside the box resulted in the first followed not long after by a deflected second which gave Luke no chance. Swindon pressed and pressed but both Reid (on for Smally) and Allessandra had chances to finish them off. In the dying minutes Luke pulled off what Sparsky described as the best save ever by an Argyle player and I wont disagree; he deserves my MOTM nomination for that alone.

Hopefully a few more will turn up next time but those that were there had a memorable night.

Into the last 8 of the southern section!

Thanks for that lyndhurst. You were braver than me cause I did see the forecast last night and decided not to venture out. Might give Allessandra a boost of confidence for the league now he has stuck a couple away. Last 8 of the Southern section eh! Nose bleed time then. Tell me I got the Smalley goal right though?

Well how do you explain that result....did Swindon play a understrength team...if not what the hell is going on ?

Jekyll & Hyde comes to mind.....although we still seemed to try to throw it away in the second half.

If they played that well in the first half....how come they can't do that in the league against lesser opponents ?

Swindons league form suggested that it was going to be a very hard night......Sheridan needs to sought them out and get some consistency each week.....I feel on paper they should be performing far better than their league form.....this result proves that they can do it.....even if it is only for 45mins.

Without Reuben Reid playing in the first half as well.....there's no sense to be made out of it.....you expected at the best a result similar to the Accrington game......I never predict any team scoring three goals.....but felt that Swindon could do it.....not Argyle.

I don't even try to explain results in this league Plym. There is hardly any team that is consistant in league 2 unless you count Exeter's 4 wins on the trot recently. They could just as easily lose the next 4 as we could. It's what makes the prediction league fun and so bleddy hard.

Sounded like a bit of a nailbiter in the end, nothing is ever plain sailing in Argyle land. Yes sensiblegreen I did notice a bit of a ruckus on here a few weeks back but in all honesty I have very little interest in that, as I've already stated my only real interest is what is going on at Home Park and I don't intend to be a prolific poster, just an interested viewer. I do enjoy the match reports from Lyndhurstgreen which are very well written, l can close my eyes and almost smell the thick cigarette smoke, bovril and pasties of my youth! Goodnight all.

To be honest we all don't have much interest in all of that either Essex but alas they keep coming no matter how much you wish they didn't. Interest view away and enjoy. Bovril and pasties eh! Not good for my diet but hey-ho who cares.

Evening all; Sorry sensible but Smalley's goal was actually very good, I thought he had blown it by not shooting earlier but fair play to him he took it past another player and whacked it in from the edge of the area- nothing like his dismal display on Saturday and we were actually a better team last night with him on the pitch rather than once Reuben replaced him.
Welcome Essex - they wouldn't let me be a Mod (only joking) so I tend to do a short match report after most home games. I am aware that they vary in quality and the spelling is sometimes affected by post match red wine but I shall try to invoke more memories of your youth!

Next round is Tuesday 11th (draw on Saturday) - 4 days before this season's 'Armed Services' match which is the Sky televised one V Portsmouth. I know it is on SKY but we are trying to get the ground as full as possible- lots of pre match and half time entertainment being promised. See you there.

I always attend home league matches whether on tele or not. Don't mind Sky on this occasion cause they will be giving us a bit of dosh. Don't get carried away with your match day report referal lyndhurst, we all know Joe edits it before publication. If they want to get the ground a little fuller on that match day then I suggest they start looking at kids for a quid deals. Otherwise we will be at around 6000 as usual + an extra 500 than usual because it's Pompey and they will bring them.

I read a bit on pasoti before your report lyndhurst and it did actually say that Smalley's goal was a good'n so I knew I had done him a diservice. Nice to hear he was a better player last night but to be fair, he couldn't have been any worse than Saturday so it had to be an improvement. The more pleasing thing for me was Allesandra scoring twice. He hasn't looked like scoring in league matches so far so the confidence will be boosted now. Hopefully that is.

Welcome on board Essex, at last we have a new one who wants to talk and add to the discussion.. makes a pleasant change..

Gat choose her mods lyndhurst and it was not us!! well you have a position of doing the match day reports and the rest are just MODS, apart from BC, I have a job of the predictions as Gat could not count to well as she is getting old!!

Sensible, you know they are not edited by me.. look at the spelling. I have not seen distant on for a while unless he is freddy Kruger..<somersault>

    You're just being modest Joe.....

She didn't choose her Mods either, we were the only two who were scared to say no.

I think notdistant is busy doing a take over of some Global company or something. It's bound to be mighty important if he isn't on here. or a secret mission with the SAS perhaps. (That's Sainsbury and Son)

Haha, well my spelling has improved.. as i try and think before i write.. that is difficult for me. Yes she is not to be messed with.. i suppose i will get it for making such comments about her age!!

He must be on an important mission, but if you go on about Brent and money he will appear.. i like reading his stuff. makes me laugh as i don.t understand all that about business even tho i have one and i should know more.. but i leave that to the accountants and others i would rather be on the tools or just driving around keeping a check on them all.. drinking tea..

I don't get half of it either Joe so you aren't alone. You don't need to know how it all works to run a company, that's why you pay somebody else to worry about it. If you knew you would be tempted to save the money and it would mean you would have a whole load more to do. I mean, drinking tea is a serious business. I made a career out of it both for Central and Local Government.

I see Dame Hanah is back in business and meant to ask you before, does that help you and is it a good thing?
