we agreed to do it for the upcoming season if anyone can be bothered to help JPF organise it. It basically went along the lines of:

Sorry lads. Things have been very complicated in my life recently, so I couldn't commit to doing it. It's uncomplicated itself somewhat recently, however, so I'll get it set-up!

 

I was gonna come out with something understanding and sympathetic but that would totally go against the spirit of this board. So get your arse into gear and stop being a twat. (Honestly do hope everything is ok but just don't want you knowing that).

For what it's worth my predictions are:

Man Utd 3 v 0 Swansea
Leicester 0 v 2 Everton
QPR 1 v 2 Hull
Stoke 4 v 0 Aston Villa
West Brom 1 v 1 Sunderland
West Ham 0 v 3 Spurs
Arsenal 5 v 1 Crystal Palace
Liverpool 4 v 2 Southampton
Newcastle 1 v 3 Man City
Burnley 0 v 3 Chelsea

I'm wondering whether we should have one league, or two leagues based on the end rankings of the World Cup. The top 10 in the world cup game go into the premier league, while any new entrants and those outside go into a second tier, allowing for promotion/relegation and a potentially more engaging dynamic? Although I suppose someone could get the most points and be pissed they only won the second tier!

In that case...

Set it up in leagues of 10...seeded from World Cup positions and then in order of joining....

so there is no limit to the number of leagues. BUT.....

Instead of running an overall competition over the season, run it over each calendar month with 2 up 2 down at the end of each month. At the beginning of a new calendar month everyone in each league is back on zero. Then its rinse and repeat as the season goes on. The person top of the top league in May wins!

Now that's ****ing complicated!!

 

but in its defence it keeps it interesting for those joining late.

That way we can have a manager of the month!!!! I ****ing love it. That's what we're doing

 

And we can have a separate cup competition too for everyone, predicting every cup game starting in Jan, but doing it against one other player in a knock out format. That way some of us can stay interested in the cup in February

 

You do know you're gonna be spending the rest of tonight working out the starting leagues from the World Cup positions

 

I realise I'm going to be spending the rest of my life stuck on this forum when everyone else has pissed off to join a new one hahahahahahaha

 

Judging by your World Cup predictions that's the only chance you've got of winning the thing - last man standing!
