This doesn't have anything directly to do with Manchester United, but football as whole considering racism sport wide has been getting much more attention. My compatriot Jozy Altidore was racially abused by fans in a Dutch cup game today. Original article is below with the videos mentioned in the article. http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/artic...ker-altidore-target-racist-chants-netherlands This, in my opinion, is how all victims of racism in football need to react. Talk to the officials, let the FA, and other governing bodies take care of the incident. It's easier said than done, but I feel a lot of this "racism" is really just people trying get reaction out of someone and they use the race of a player to try and get under their skin. Obviously some of it is just pure hatred, but a good majority of it just immature. Well done on Jozy for being a man about it.
I don't know if its media attention or has racism has made a massive comeback. I thought racism in football had by and large died on its arse (except in eastern europe), but clearly not.
I think it's mostly media attention. Ever since Blatter said there was no racism in football every incident makes headlines.
I wish there was no Blatter in football, he's an absolute buffoon. Hope he gets nailed for the World Cup bid fraud, but I doubt it'll happen, he'll probably be made "supreme most awesome leader of FIFA for eva" or something. My secondary hope is that he gets caught in a compromising position by spycam (sucking plums maybe?) and get's 2 weeks hard labour for it (he won't survive the first week).
As long as mentally challenged people roam the Earth racism will still exist. The people who started these chants should be castrated in order to prevent them from ever procreating such stupidity into the future. But that's just my opinion.
