The fast forward has progressed up the ranks since his arrival two years ago, accompanied with his mother, impressing many onlookers with his raw talent and ability. King was playing his football at a Norweigan side, Valerenga, for two years before he was spotted at Ole Gunnar Solskjear’s youth academy, where we also found the now departed Magnus Eikrem. King will be hoping to break into the first team, unlike Magnus (who was very impressive as the reserves captain) who went to Molde- to play under Solsksjear. King is eligible to play internationally for either Gambia, or Norway (like John Carew) but he has decided to represent his country of birth, in the Norweigan U19′s- where he has scored 2 in 2. please log in to view this image King Became Preston North End’s 1,000th Ever Player Performances So Far After impressing the United scouts, King signed for United on his 16th birthday in 2008. In his first season with the United U17′s, the boy helped us win the Milk Cup with some impressive goalscoring displays (with 4 goals in his first 4 starts) and this got people talking about the pacey goal-scorer from Norway. Importantly, King is perceived not only to possess blistering pace but also a work ethic and commitment which helps set him apart from other speedy forwards. Regrettably, soon after this promising first season, King suffered serious injuries to his ankle and groin, which kept him out for nearly half a year. However, in this time it seems that the young boy spent a lot of time in the gym, working on his physique, as he continued to grow to a healthy 6ft 1. Upon his return to the team it was easy to see an improvement in his physicality, which has since helped him settle into football in England, which is a lot faster and tougher than in Norway.
