Good to see him get off the mark, thumping goal and with the few remaining games left i hope Barmby plays him for all the remaining 90 minutes and he bombs on and gets a couple more
I'll put my hands up on this one. Amoo mark 2 I believe I called him( along with one two others) but I was way off the mark. Looks like a real handful now and as Monday showed he has an end product. I'd be delighted if we could get him on loan for next season.
I said something along the same lines, but in all fairness he was pretty damn awful when he was still raw. Looks quality now and hopefully we can get him for next season. I'm sure someone (OLM maybe?) said there was a chance of a permanent deal - or was that Brady?
like him a lot, powerful and direct and best of all wants to get forward and plays positively. he's shown promising moments since he joined and midds was all that coming together. the more i watch that goal the more he reminds me of heskey at the same age. season long loan please!
It's interesting (well, kind of) that he has done the exact opposite of his Utd counterpart Brady. Young Robert started off like a house on fire in the Liverpool friendly and has got progressively 5h1tter ever since.
Have to agree i played the 'he has never scored a professional goal' a few times before but he has proved me wrong, lets hope he continues to improve and add to his end product.
I said before the game that on reflection that I didnit think we should keep him but boy did he prove me wrong against Boro - when he gets fitter & stronger, he will be a real handful at this level - so yes please next season.. I also had similar thoughts about Robbie Brady but he looked determined, up for it and his general all round play was excellent - can only get better once he realises he doesn't have to take on the whole side with no end product - yes again for next season..
I hope he doesn't get any better so that MU won't consider releasing him---we can then get him on the cheap/free and then he shows his true potential with us
To be fair, based on what you could have seen I think that was a more realistic view than some of the more positive ones. They seemed to be a bit of blind faith that he'd be better once his fitness improved. The only reason I was confident he was up to it was because I'd seen him playing for Man U reserves so I'd seen him doing it, and he's still been better on the wing recently than I thought he'd be. Has to be said though, the few times he got the ball between the opposition midfield and defence against 'boro were when he looked most dangerous so I still think he should be playing up top so he can do it regularly. I don't think he wasted the ball a single time in those positions, unless passing to Evans in front of an almost open goal counts as wasting it.
I don't think you should apologise, NFU, he was very poor when he first joined. He was absolutely brilliant on Monday though, and it was a fantastic finish for his goal.
I think there is a better than evens chance of signing King in the summer and getting Brady back on loan. Other than Lesta(and i doubt the Allams will deal with them anyway) who would possibly want Stewart on his current form ? He has alot to prove once again.
I would suggest that the 3 relegated PL clubs will all have there best players taken by the clubs mentioned here as well as others. Luckily we dont have to sell for a change.
Do we take it that NB isnt interested in having him back then Lammie? If thats the case is he thinking of not having as many loanees next season?
Can't say i'm too bothered about this one. King on the other hand needs to be signed, whether it's a season loan or permanently
What we dont want him next season ? No way is Brady ready for the PL yet nevermind Man Utd. Interesting to see what happens with him.
