Bradders has done well on the left, but more in the sort of role Surman used to occupy when Lambert played the diamond. But he has neither the pace nor the guile to 'skin' a half decent full back, so I agree with JRF above comment - especially scoring the winner!
How to get fast-tracked into the Canaries hall of fame! <laugh>

I'd say... they'd build a statue to him ready for next year if he did (and we went up, we would have the cash to)
 
As I have said on other threads in the past, I think it is vital that we see the introduction of some of the Youth Cup winners into the squad on a permanent basis otherwise what is the point? It would help with the overheads and their performances would improve quickly with experience geting up to speed over 8 or 9 games hopefully if carefully managed and I have faith that AN could do that. It woudl be good for the City and good for the cashflow, perhaps allowing us to but a very special player to keep us up (if we go up)
 
I imagine that pre-season we will see a bit of a shake up with AN getting shot of what he perceives to be dead wood and some of the better youngsters may well be given the chance to shine pre-season. Regardless of their pedigree it is AN's job to develop them as far as he can and if that means that they get sold for £500k to Div 1 then that is £500k which can be pumped back into the academy to try to develop better.

If we don't go up then obviously we will have to cut our cloth accordingly and I am sure we will see some more opportunities for the Murphy's and their U-21 colleagues.

Indeed. I fail to see the benefits of investing in and striving to achieve category 1 academy status - and then farming the prospects of that out on loan to Luton, Cambridge, Wigan, Blackpool, Colchester.......<doh>

Spot on Cromer. We either need to develop the more promising youngsters, or sell them to a lower league team.
Looking forward to seeing if any of or current crop can make the grade and regularly command a place on the bench at least.
 
I have raised this type of issue on here and the old 606 site so many times over the years and every time got the same response - he's too young - send him out on loan. It is a long standing problem - we don't give youngsters a chance and, to be fair, the supporters seem reluctant to see youngsters given a chance. Surely you need to give them a chance either to prove their worth or to show that they need to be sold to a lower league Club. Lambert gave a chance to a few that didn't come up to scratch and they were sold on. The Youth Cup winners are now in their 20's - I take a very simple view that if they are not showing signs of performing at Championship level at 20 they are going to break through at 24 so you might as well move them on if they are not going to be part of the squad. I accept that mistakes will be made and different considerations apply if we are in the Premiership but over the years we have spent far too much time and money waiting for the likes of Spillane, Henderson, Francome, Jarvis's etc etc to develop only to let them go on free transfers at a later stage. If we remain in the Championship I hope some of the youngsters will be permanent features in the squad. It's not just the Murphys - the young prospect we got from Scotland was rated very highly but has not had a look in. The youngster we loaned back to Swindon was good enough to be in the squad that got Swindon promoted to the Championship but will he get a chance next year? I suspect that if we remain in the Championship next year the supporters will clamour for the Club to spend money we haven't got on new players instead of having a look at what is already here.
