I think it has nothing to do with his knighthood. His media work has always been fairly bland and non controversial probably because he wants to hang onto it. I also suspect he will always be on the side of all jockeys and trainers as he doesn't want to appear to be slagging anyone off. Makes for fairly anodyne viewing though...
