In this match-up, you have to simply answer who is better... Will Grigg or Joselu... Or Shola... as he is now...
Shola by a mile, a very underated footballer. I tend to listen to people in the game who have played with him and coached him rather than half the idiots on here that don't know what shape a football is.
Hard to compare Grigg and Joselu as they haven't really played at the same levels. Realistically Grigg doesn't seem to perform that well in the Championship let alone the Premiership so despite how terrible Joselu is I suspect he offers us more than Grigg would. Conversely, if I was in League 1 I'd much prefer Grigg to Joselu as I don't think Joselu is capable of scoring consistently against anyone, at any level. I didn't mention Shola as the question was "as he is now" and clearly he'd be the worst of the three. If we're talking about at his peak then he'd be a class above the other two. We wouldn't have sold him for the £4-5m price that the others went for even 15 years ago when that was some actual money in football. His scoring record in the Premiership outstrips the others, no contest. He scored 15 goals in Europe, 40+ in the Premiership and more in 18 games for us in the Championship than Grigg has in his career so far.
The thing with Shola is he had crippling injuries in his career which affected his pace and ability to run for days. Ledley King was absolutely hero worshipped for not being able to train and then coming in and doing a job, but Shola got a lot of **** from the fans. I love him
There are a lot of people involved in professional football who would completely disagree with you, Alan Shearer being one of them.
