http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...knew-Chelsea-job-him.html?ico=sport^headlines I knew Ferguson was retiring many months ago,â said Mourinho. âI am his friend to know he is going to retire, and he is my friend to know that the club I want to coach in England is Chelsea. I would turn down everyone in the world â not just the United job â for Chelsea.' So there we have it. When ferguson confided in Jose many months ago that he was retiring, Jose said he only wanted the chelsea job. United then went after Moyes
Like how your trying to twist it to make out he was first choice lol. He was never going to be offered it... We got out first choice in Moyes and Chelsea got their 3rd choice good to see that's all now cleared up
Anyone with even one brain cell knew that Jose agreed to come to Chelsea long before Fergie's retirement was announced. Talks with Jose began when RDM was interim manager. Jose was looking at property in London around that time too, his daughter lives in London and he had repeatedly expressed his desire to be close to his family and they were (rightly) #1 priority ahead of any career move he would make. All the evidence suggests that it was in fact Mourinho that turned down United but the MUFC-affiliated press (basically anyone that works for The Times/Sun) and the other United sycophants didn't want this leaking out, because it means their mantra of "United are the best club in the world that nobody would turn down" becomes redundant. Guardiola wasn't interested, Mourinho wasn't and Ancelotti wasn't going to leave PSG unless Real came knocking. Anybody that thinks Moyes was first choice is utterly delusional. They care about the brand first and foremost and their folks in the Far East would have preferred a Mourinho/Ancelotti. A couple of years without trophies and their fans will be flogging to City. Players choosing to join Chelsea/City over United Key players wanting to leave Big name managers overlooking/rejecting them The pendulum has massively swung and the media/United fans just don't want to accept it.
It appears to be that the pendulum is on it's backward swing for United. Just like the Roman Empire, on the surface towards the end it was still a force to be reckoned with and a powerful entity. Under the surface though it was rotten to the core and easily pulled apart from what ever entity decided to move through. This (unfortunately) is what is happening to United.
i would not write off united yet... the FA will be bending over backwards to help moyes in his first season, just as they did with fergie in his last season. The big fix at the bridge last season and many other ref given advantages become very explainable now that we know that the FA were given the nod on fergies final season.
Yep. Saffa courted Jose, telling him he was retiring in secret and that the United job was open. Jose responded by knocking united out of Europe, snubbing ferguson's masonic job offer and joining Chelsea. What a legend. Fergus must have been frothing when Jose told him he only wanted the Chelsea Job. His daughter studies in London I think. For a big club like united to be snubbed by ancelotti and pep too must be murders
A good report on the BBC website! Fact is Jose's got Blue blood in him! He was never going anywhere else!
It is not obvious that a manager that stays at a club for 3 years max and a club that is looking for a manager to stay for far far longer are not a match. Fergie telling Jose he was quitting is not united offering Jose the job. It is Fergie telling Jose he is quitting. United never offered Jose the job. Jose said he always wanted Chelsea, Those is the facts really, the rest is speculation.
Yep. He made it clear to Saffa that he was not interested in any job other than Chelsea. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22924243 There is no way Saffa would have told Jose about his retirement early unless he wanted Jose to get the United job. Moyes only knew about Saffa retiring much later because he was not first choice
I honestly don't now anything other than I've read, Fergie I imagine told a few friends he was quitting prior to quitting. If he told his son he was quitting before he did, was he offering him the job too, thats my point. If RDM had run a successful campaign and won the league you wouldn't even be having this conversation and Jose would be saying he always wanted to manage the next club he took over, probably Monaco or something
He wasnt offered the job, you are hell bent on trying to prove he was when not one person anywhere said Jose was offered the United job, here's a quote from Jose to back the opinion he was told Fergie was retiring as they were friends and respected each other. At no point does Jose say he was offered the job "End of" is no counter argument to the fact that if RDM did not get sacked Jose would not be managing Chelsea is it? Come to think of it, if things had gone well and Real managed to win the CL and league and RDM still got sacked I still doubt Jose would be at Chelsea
Agree Jose did not want the United and told Ferguson that. So he was never formally offered it. If he had wanted it, the job was his. Ferguson would not have told him about his retirement plans other wise. Ferguson told him in secret. Tapping him up for united. Real should be angry about United's underhand tactics Rob Beasley explains it best: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...d-Alex-Ferguson-I-didnt-want-Man-Utd-job.html He knows Jose well too. JOSE MOURINHO told Alex Ferguson there was no way he would ever take over from him at Manchester United." "
You are desperate to try make a point you got one over United, the only purpose of this thread. Jose has signed for Chelsea, surely that's all that matters
How on earth do you know that, you state wild speculation as facts Here's some logic. If RDM had not got sacked, and Real still did crap and wanted Jose gone. He had the choice of United or PSG or Monaco. He would not be at Chelsea. Things went the way they did which led to Jose coming back but it was dependent on Real not wanting him, Chelsea needing him so it all fell into place, saying he was always coming back regardless of circumstances is delusional, he is 100% always gonna blow smoke up chelsea fans arses. Circumstance led to his return, he was not gonna turn down every job in the world and wait for Chelsea to come in for him. He was not offered the job, so he could not turn it down. When real sacked him, had there been no other top posting and he was offered the United job he would have taken it no doubt.
The fact that real and him fell out months ago and Rafa being interim for most of the season led to this happening.
There you go, back to what you are really about. Throwing stick You are better at it than debating I'll give you that
