Jose: "We can play fantastically well, and this was a perfect game, but if we don’t win the European Cup then in 20 years’ time nobody will remember this team. They have to win competitions for that. It is a young team with years in front of them and together we are going to try to make history.”
In my eyes, no, because I rate the CL about as much as I do the FA Cup. But in the eyes of ****tards, yes, so I voted yes.
Depends. The 09 team that lost to barca in the semis was a great team. Objectivley, and considering the competition we had, we were right up there with the treble winning mancs, the great 00's arsenal and barca at their peak. We didn't win anything in that year though, we messed round with managers, got put out of the league race, and got cheated by a terrible referree in the CL-before claiming a FA cup. Because of this, the sentence: "we were right up there with the treble winning mancs, the great 00's arsenal and barca at their peak." sounds ridiculous, but look at he team: Chelsea: Cech, Bosingwa, Alex, Terry, Ashley Cole, Lampard, Essien, Ballack, Anelka, Drogba, *Malouda* In form anelka (19 league goals that year), BALLACK, ESSIEN, DROGBA, JT/Frank, Cole, Cech (club legends at the pinancle of their careers). This was an awesome team one of the best that didn't win the CL. Compare to our 2012 winning team and you'd come to the conclusion that its not always the objectively best teams, that actually win that trophy!
no need to be fighting over a typo now is there mate, the smallest of victories in internet terms IMO
Not a victory at all, and wasn't claiming one. Just prompting you to add another player - genuinely didn't know who you would add to that very good team. (Malouda rather brings the standard down). But couldn't let Ossie's daft response go without comment (unless it is some very strange joke)
