    Give me a break....

    http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/new...ose-Enrique-from-Newcastle-article726935.html

Bayern Munich are ready to *challenge *Liverpool in the battle to lure Jose Enrique from Newcastle United.

And Toon boss Alan Pardew, already in a fight to hang on to key midfielder Joey Barton, is facing up to the fact that top scorer Kevin Nolan is now a target for West Ham.

It had seemed that *Anfield boss Kenny Dalglish was in pole position to land *Enrique this summer, *despite AC Milan’s interest in the *Spanish left-back.

But Bayern, who can boast a £100million transfer kitty, have other ideas.

Enrique enters the final year of his Newcastle *contract this summer, and is on record as saying he wants to play Champions League football.

Bayern hope that could swing the deal for them – the *German giants also believe they will snatch third place in *the Bundesliga this term and *qualify for next *season’s Champions League.

Officials from Munich were represented at St James’ Park on Tuesday night, watching Enrique in Newcastle’s 0-0 draw with Manchester United.

West Ham have been *checking out 28-year-old Magpies midfielder Nolan recently, and fancy pairing him with Football Writers Player of the Year Scott Parker next *season if they beat the drop.

Nolan, who has two years of his contract to run, is in talks over a new deal with the Toon top brass.

Barton was on West Ham’s radar earlier in the season, and has stalled on his *contract talks stating: “I’ll wait and see if players like Kevin Nolan, Cheik Tiote and Jose Enrique stay.

“If Nolan signs a new deal, I will as well.”

Jose would be a reasonable target for Bayern Munich but yet again this sorry excuse for a newspaper have basically fabricated a story from nothing, no quotes, no evidence, only that they have money to spend and Jose is a good player.

Nolan to West Ham though? Why would they even waste the ink? He's captain of a top ten club that is looking to improve vastly over the summer, he's a favourite with fans and players and has openly stated he'd love to end his career here. Why would he go to a club struggling with relegation and at the other side of the country?

    Sometimes, words fail me <doh>

I'd sell Nolan or not start him, his goals and leadership have been great this season but he lacks, well.....pretty much everything else!

There are players out there that we could sign that could do a better job, I can;t see how he will fit into our formation next season, it would comprimise the effectiveness of other players if we stick with Nolan as a regular in CM.

The way Jose has played the last few games he's as good as gone, we might aswell see how much we can get for him, £10m would be good!

If Nolan wants to end his career here he should be allowed to end it here. Money can't buy loyalty and that's what we've got with Kev.

A few months ago he was giving interviews saying he accepted that as the club progressed we would reach a stage where he wouldn't be good enough for the first team. Of course I'd still like to keep him around once we reach that stage, unless he wants to leave that is, his leadership and goals are invaluable.

If they don't beat it they'll probably go for Young Jimmy Bullard instead.

I'd rather he went to Bayern than Liverpool, although I hope he will sign a new contract.

FFS we have the backbone of a brilliant team (barton, collo, harper/krul, tiote, enrique) and with some investment could easily be in Europe but Ashley's gunna screw us over again.

Potentially this could be our best team in years, but were going to miss that opportunity as long as M*** A****** remains at the club selling all our players as soon as a decent bid comes in.

And I do realise this is just speculation, but I can see our best players going in the summer and us not signing adequate replacements. Don't count on seeing Gervinho in a newcastle shirt next season.

The only reason I say let Jose go (As much as I like the guy) I reckon we have seen the best of him and if we get a bid anywhere near the above we should take it. And I would happily spend £17m on Lukaku as he is one of Europes hottest properties and would fill the huge void that Carroll has obviously left whether any of us want to admit it or not.

  17. Nolan is worth much more than 2-3 mil.

Baines is worth ALOT more than 7-8 mil mate, or atleast Everton will tell anyone putting a bid like that in for Baines to **** off.

    Nolan's worth 7-8 mil, because he's a goal machine, a leader, and a good alround attacking/support striker.

Baines would cost atleast 15 million, and we don't even know if Enrique is going yet.

Sorry Tash but you need to turn around because you've entered Cuckooland. I'll start off buy saying I wouldn't sell him unless we did get a highly inflated offer for him and continue with, Yes, he's the highest goalscoring midfielder this year and his leadership has been key to most of Newcastle's success but we'd be lucky if we got an offer for £4m for him. In a sense he's worth £7m or £8m to us but whether anyone else would be stupid enough to pay that price is a completely different story. If Nolan doesn't score he does nothing else worth shouting about.

Nolan admitted that the club is progressing quickly and within his time at the club it will progress further than his ability will allow him to hold down a first team place... that time is coming next season. Step aside Mr Nolan, looks like Mr Ireland, Gosling, Ben Arfa, (Guthrie?) are taking over.
