Speaking to Shacker Hislop, SAF said critics have underestimated the combination of the loss of Courtois with the natural decline of JT due to age. He then called JT the greatest CD in our history and said the loss of those 2 is like losing the spine of the team, and consistent results can't be expected. He poured scorn on those claiming Jose has lost the dressing room and said Chelsea players always play to their max for Jose. His expectation is that Jose will turn things around though it might take a few more weeks. Not a man I like very much is SAF, but he seemed to be forthright and candid , and said he would say the same thing even if he wasn't a friend and admirer of Jose. Interesting.
SAF has a soft spot for Jose and they have always had a friendly relationship when they were arch rivals! We all know JT's best days are behind him but Jose knows that , because he's no longer an automatic selection now!Things will get better,I feel sure, Jose just can't fail to be a challenger for the title whatever squad he has at his disposal!
