Special shoutout to Jose Fonte today. The guy was ****ing immense. Not just the goals but massive defensively. Yoshida and Hoovield were woeful today and he was covering for both of them at times! Solid as a rock and got 2 goals as well. What a legend! 10/10 performance.

On a side note: Fox had a great game which surprised me. Very solid. Guly also was great when he came on which shut up the haters! Other than that the whole midfield was excellent and Gazza solid. I had 7 starters as deserved of more than a 8/10 today. 8 players if you count Guly who came on. Lambert was off his game, Ramirez out and we still deserved to win. We were just unlucky today, would have taken 3 points with some luck. We were all over them at the end I was trying to scream the ball into the net!!!

I have to disagree that Guly shut up the haters. People in the row behind me were saying "Every ****ing thing that goes wrong is through ****ing Guly", but then I don't think he has two brain cells to rub together so we can probably ignore that.

Think we should all remember Fonte's performance today before we berate players for being useless. Everyone can have a bad day, but the secret is can you learn from it. The same with Fox. A lot of people have been quick to write off both these players, yet they turned in a performance today. You will think I am mad, but I think today may be a turning point.

P.s. Fonte should score more often as it seems to encourage him to strip off. Thank you, Jose.

Sorry - Have to disagree with this - If Fonte hadnt collided with Richardson, Richardson would not have gone off injured which would have meant Hoiveld would not have come on as a sub.

I therefore put the blame for both of Fulhams goals down To Fonte

Jose's already beaten last season's tally of one, can he reach seven like he did the year before last?

Fonte's Inferno :), what a great header. I think it is true that he had a good game and has adjusted to the division after a shaky start. This highlights how important confidence is to a player whereas in contrast Hooiveld is down in the dumps. Good to see Fonte encouraging Hooiveld after his error, he can improve too, as Fox did today, maybe not world class but a nice assist and a recall to the side & Scotland.

No point in getting on Jos's back. There will be games where he is required to play...it's in all our interests that he regains confidence.

The positive way to look at it is that none of his penalties that he conceded lead to a goal, the Arsenal own goal was rather unfortunate so he's only really made one major error with Fulham's first today.

I suggest you watch again, Fonte was nowhere near Richardson when he got hurt, the player that Fonte trampled on was Steve Davis!

Hoover is beating himself up big time, he doesn't need the mongs to tell him what is wrong, what he needs for our benefit later is that he is still part of the squad and should get a chance to make amends, there isn't a better 100% player with us, he may not be Premier Class, time will tell.

Thanks. I was about to point that out. It didn't help that when I got home to re-watch the game, the commentators said it was Fonte. I had to rewind to check.

I got a bit peed off today with the negativity of a few fans. The groaning when a mistake was made was appalling. We really need to get behind the team all through this season.

Jos had a mare today and you are correct Saintdon, he'll know it more than the rest of us. He loves us fans and he gives his all. I do think we have looked better with Jose and Yoshida together in the middle.

Garth Crooks is a moron. He's rightly picked Fonte in his team in the week but spot the glaring error:

He hadn't scored for Southampton before the game against Fulham. He gave the Saints the lead, then got the equaliser and suddenly was on for a hat-trick. In the end a brace and a well earned point was enough.

I assume he means he hadn't scored for us in the Premier League.

He is, but at least he's relatively inoffensive compared to the likes of Lawro and Merson who drive me mental.

assume you've noticed his little fall from a slight brush with Puncheon's calf? Mark Bright called it the same in real time. Said it was a a goal
