I was going to stick this up yesterday and then discovered the site was down. I think I was away from about 11AM and it still wasn't working at midnight. Probably DoS attacks again from ****ers at a rival site now that the 606 closure is getting closer.

Anyway I was reading this on NUFC Blog about Enrique being offered a new deal. I'm kind of losing interest in the saga, all this is speculation and until something concrete is announced I'm assuming the worst.

However, this little bit at the end of the article made me smile:

Anyone else think it could be our fake Enrique? Jajaja.

    REAL/(or a relation)

I know for a fact that Jose's brother reads nufcblog.com 'cause Jose had a print-screen of it on his twitter account. Someone had posted that Nile Ranger was Newcastle's very own Messi, Jose commented saying something like 'no, he rubbish jajajaja'

I tweeted him asking if he reads the blog and he said it was his brother, but he tells him what people are saying

Nobody seriously thinks that Jose Enrique actually gives a **** what gets written on blog sites, do they?

I would imagine the guy has a life full enough to not bother taking time to e-mail Toon sites. Just a thought.

    I actually do, yeah!

Not to the extent that it'll ruin his day or that he will lose sleep over it. But with Danny Simpson occasionally retweeting encouraging comments from fans and Nolan coming out in the press saying that he is desperate to be remembered as a Toon legend, its faily clear that the fan's oppinions matter to quite a few players. Blogs are one of a number of ways players can guage fans reactions!

Egotistical or not, if I were playing for Newcastle, I'd be interested in what people were saying about me! And as I said, there's evidene to show Jose is aware of nufcblog - even if its only in the capacity of the odd comment passed on via his brother!

<laugh> ...yeah, he earns £50,000 a week and sits at his computer nervously wondering what the fans think of him! Oh please...

Many players are on Twitter, this is no different, except more people will know/care who he is and what he thinks.

Try standing in the middle of a pitch with 50,000 very passionate and very loud blokes screaming at you. Try having your every move and every word you say scrutinized by hundreds of thousands of people.

You can bet that many players wonder and care about what the fans think of them.

Personally, I'd be desperate to know what the fans thought of me, I'd be all over sites like these. Enrique knows we appreciate what a good player he is, we chant his name every week, and he realises he is one of our better players.

I wouldn't be surprised if he did. Pretty sure in his interview with the late kick-off he said he's pretty quiet, doesn't drink etc. So it's unlikely he'll be out training and partying 24/7.

In that bingo picture he had a bottle of water, Colo had a pint because he's a real man.

It was actually a plastic bottle of Vodka, he's more than a real man.

Collo's pint was just a diluted Coke...

Correct, and on the pitch is exactly where he gages opinion of his performance - not his laptop.

Aye but you're saying this based on your opinion. Based on how you think you'd react in a similar position?

I'm basing my statement on the fact, as I said in my original post:

I'd be amazed if the players don't use some form of social media to look themselves up.
