Sign him up Warnock! Even if he isn't starting he's a fantastic young striker for the future (possible replacement for McCormack?) and had a good loan spell at Tranmere and he's a gem for the Everton u18's/Reserves. Ray Hall the academy director at Everton who watched Rooney progress thinks very highly off him and believes Baxter is better than Rooney at that age. Turned down a contract at Everton probably wanting more first team football but Crystal Palace are in for him aswell so we best act quick if we want to get him.

Ain't many videos but the stats speak for themselves.... By the age of 15, he has broken Patrick Kluivert's youth goalscoring records at International youth level and Rooney's, Ian Rush's and Michael Owen's records at club youth level.

    Looks promising

I do think if he is this highly regarded, surely a big prem club would try and bring him into there set-up. Even if he wants first team, a chance with one of the big 4 is often an opportunity that youngsters struggle to refuse.

Would be good if we could sign him but then do we have wages available to be signing a player that might play twice in the season and cost more than most when we can't even afford to assemble a decent squad already.

I do agree we should be looking at players like this anyway

Also another thing to bear in mind is that we would have to pay a decent whack of compensation as well so its not just wages

Warnock saw Clayton as a luxury we cannot afford, I doubt at this stage he would be willing to use a large chunk of his wage budget on a player unlikely to start much.

Great prospect who unfortunately doesn't fit into Warnock's one year plan, so we won't be signing him.

They have an academy we don't!!! No chance that the kid would come to us, and remember that Everton took Luke Garbutt off us and it cost them £1m which Bates put into his account. This kid would be a luxury we can't afford right now, and we should be producing our own ffs. Don't get too exited though, just remember the last time Everton were raving about someone with more potential than Rooney - Francis Jeffers anyone

Cosmic I wasn't saying we should get jeffers ffs, I was pointing out that Everton were bigging him up as the next Rooney, and we all know where that went. So a comparison between this kids revues and jeffers are no different

Doc, where do you get this idea that we don't have a academy? Ben Parker may have moved on as a result of not being able to stay fit enough. But we have White, who may or may not sign an extension, Lees who is developing nicely, & plenty of others in recet time whowe had to see in the firesale.

Silly boy. Our ex academy could conceivably provide the entire nglnad midfield soon - Delphn Howson, Lennon, & Milner!!!

Boggers our academy isn't anything like it was in the past. TA was the blueprint that all the top clubs followed because we had a production line of talent coming through. Bates and his knife have closed most of TA down including much of the medical centre, all of the accomodation, housekeepers and a lot of groundstaff. We let go our academy director who went to Man City to take that to a new level, and also his No2 who still recruits in Leeds and Yorkshire. They also took our 2 most talented kids and paid Bates nearly £1m for them. Bates also sold Garbutt to Everton for another million. Local kids who are any good end up at Man City because they get a better grounding plus education. Bates charges parents to coach their kids unless they look to have prospects.

Delph, Garbutt, Howson, White, Parker, Lees is the best we've come up with for a long time, and lets face it under the old regime only Howson and Delph would probably have made it through to 1st team. Yes we have a academy in name, but we all know it doesn't produce what we got in the past. It was only last season after Bates had another cull at TA, that we spent 5-months searching for an academy director. He left recently after less than 12-months, so what does that tell you. Bates sees TA as a cost instead of an investment mate
