I have to say, I have been well impressed by Hooiveld this season. His composure and overall defensive work has been excellent. His aerial abilty is also superb, not only great in the air when defending but he also provides a real aerial threat in front of goal during set-pieces.

I actually think at times this season, he has looked the better centre-back when compared to Jose Fonte and that's saying something! (Although Fonte has been making mistakes recently).

I urge Adkins and The Don to approach Celtic at the first available opportunity in January to get the dutchman's signature on a permanent basis.

My best estimates say £1million to £1.5million should do it, and i'm confident he'll be well worth that money!

I think there's a pre arranged fee if we keep him off £800.000.BARGAIN, just like Lambert, Cork, Chaplow, Fonte,De Ridder,Barnard and the list goes on lol

Celtic have been letting in goals left right and centre. If there isn't a pre arranged fee I would be surprised if we kept him!

We need him back , our centre half pairing are a joke , joos has never really had a chance with us , luckily he is only out on loan. Our other centre half loanee o'dea also scored for Leeds .Meanwhile we are conceding 3 goals to Kilmarnock in the first half !!!!

No offence, but he might actually want to stay. I'm certain he has been impressed by what he has experienced so far at Southampton and the prospect of playing in the Premier League is a good one for him if he was to remain.

No disrespect whatsoever to Celtic (who are a huge club, steeped in a history), but the Premier League is far more desirable than the SPL.

Believe me Harry, if Jos wants to stay, and our chairman wants to keep him, there is no way you'll get him back!

You can tell from his interviews and twitter etc that he isn't/wasn't happy at Celtic and felt he was treated badly. He obviously loves it here...

There is alot of spl players found the championship their level, Charlie Adams prime example , Joos got found out or blamed for our 4-0 defeat in Utrecht in Europa qualifer, to me the whole team were poor , yet Joos never played for us again , I beleive that night he was not fit .Turned out a bonus to you guys, as we stumble from one embarrassment to another , we've conceded 9 goals in our last three away games in the spl all thanks to our shocking centre defence .why didn't you take Glenn Loovens instead !!!!

He is ours now and will remain Jose's wing man and vice versa!

There is a pre negotiated deal in place it is the only loan deal Our chairman will touch now unless we had been really struggling with an injury and needed an emergency!

Hate to sound arrogant but you will be lucky to get 500k from us for him! Great game last night the bloke is like a brick **** house!

An ideal scenerio then, would be; we buy Hooiveld from you and you use the money to buy a decent centre-half! That would keep everyone happy <ok>

You would get Joos for 1 to 2 million , we need 10 million to sort our defence out, we've the swedish captain playing for us centre defence, at fault for goal week after week even at spl level .I noticed Danny Fox took the corner last night for the winning goal , another Celtic reject !!! that we could do with

You won't get anywhere near that for a player that wasn't in your squad much before, think about it, you would have taken 400k or the loan with a view prior to the end of January as you boys haven't got much ££££'s the fee set would have been in favor of the saints giving us the offer to sign him in January, there is no way on earth Jos will want to go back up North after sampling the South, it's warmer and generally nicer! If he keeps playing like that he will be playing premier league next year, why would he want to return to a league where it's always a 2 horse race? I'm sure we can pick up some ex prem has been? As for Danny Fox a Celtic reject lol if you ask me he has just gone on to bigger and better things!

I knew this discussion would eventually turn out to having a go at Scottish football, beleive me your game isn't as good as it is made out to be . Did you see Liverpool v man utd yawn match , Villerreal 16th in Spanish league giving man city more than a game . As a football fan I watch more than my fair share of games as well as going to every celtic match ,the championship is good to watch the reason being the poor standard as I said failed spl players turn to stars in your league

No one on here can state as fact what Jos would do if Celtic wanted hime back in Jan. Celtic are a massive club with a huge international fanbase. We can only speculate & hope.

I worried about him first couple of games but he seems to be getting stronger and stronger. MOTM last night by a country mile.

I wish he would stop with the step overs and turns when he is the last man though. My nerves can't handle it.

I agree, there are a lot of top-flight, high profile matches that are incredibly dull, like the ones you have mentioned. And to be honest, the two horse race SPL situation is much the same as the 5 horse race situation in the English PL. However, the overall quality of the EPL over the SPL is far higher and the Championship is not far off either to be honest.

In my opinion the likes of Hearts and Motherwell would be decent Championship sides. The rest of the SPL teams (minus Celtic and Rangers of course) are no better than low level Championship sides or top level League 1 teams, sorry to say.

Anyone see his pass the whole length of the pitch (i think to Guly?)? Pinged it perfectly on the half volley, it was quite something. Clearly Adkins likes ball playing defenders to build from the back and Hooiveld seems to fit the bill perfectly - im delighted with him

Both he and Fonte were awesome last night. They work great together complementing each other well. Long may it continue - yes I think we should sign him - he's on the bus.

Like Chris Killen who, uh, couldn't cut it for Oldham in League One but then started to shine for Hibernian. Or Richard Offiong, who was terrible in England, raped the Scottish first division and then wasn't TOO bad in the SPL. Shame he can't get a role in any league in England. Or Anthony Stokes who couldn't hit a cow's arse with a comically oversized banjo, scoring a majestic 4 goals in 61 games, went back to the SPL and remind me, who does he play for now? And let's take a look at Kris Boyd. The highest SPL scorer of all time at only 26 years old so he'll surely score a goal a game in the Championship, where even the failed SPL stars become supermen? Wonder why Boro shipped him out at the first opportunity.

Never mind eh, maybe it's only the Scottish failures that do well.
