    a wounded animal is a dangerous animal. we shall continue to lick our wounds over the next day or so, but i then expect us to respond to adversity the only way we know how...win.

    rooney will be back, hopefully carrick will be left at home and we shall unleash the wrath of the little pea on the unfortunate souls who are selected at CB.

    my prediction..

    newcastle 1 - 3 united
    gutierrez - hernandez, vidic, rooney

    I'll take this as it reads (rather than the attempted WUM but I hear you've cleaned your act up, so fair play) and thank you for the goal you've predicted for us as I don't think we'll score.

    Probably 2 very early goals from United so I'll go, 4-0 Manure, Rooney brace, Berbatov and Hernandez.

    Agree. Man United will win.. although I think it'll be a more dominant performance.. 5-0 with Rooney scoring a hat-trick and Carrick ripping our midfield to pieces with his delightful and accurate range of passing. <whistle>

    you''ve got a good record against the top teams at home though, so i'd happily take a 1-0 scrappy win every day. st james should be rocking and could well be the difference

    I can see us getting a goal but do expect a Man U win. 1-2 or 1-3 seems pretty reasonable to predict. My heart says Tiote hat trick and last gasp 4-3 winner by substitute James Perch, obviously.

    1 win, 3 draws and 1 loss against the top 6 isn;t bad but we rarely do well against United. I may well be wrong but I think our last win at home against Man Utd was 2001/02 season with that Robert free-kick, 4-3?
