These Jordan Rhodes rumours seem to be picking up traction. A few newspapers are reporting we are after him and on SkyBet we are 2nd favourites to sign him.

So if these rumours are to be true, would you be happy or would you prefer the money spent elsewhere - reports saying will be around 8-10 million.

In my opinion he is a constant goal scorer, but my only issue is that its always been in the lower leagues, ane nobody has really looked at him in the premiership.

BUT saying that he knows where the goal is.

Thoughts?

His record is better than Charlie Austin's when he was given his opportunity to step up a league.

I have championed this lad Rhodes for 3 or 4 years now since his Huddersfield days and would be delighted to see him in our colours. He is by a country mile most natural finisher in the Championship and would snap up chances missed by our hapless front line in the last 2 or 3 seasons IMO.

He is a vperfect age and experience now and this would be an exciting acquisition for me.:emoticon-0148-yes:

Personally I would rather we went for Charlie Austin, he has proved he can score goals anywhere or Joel Campbell off Arsenal, cracking player who I think would be a brilliant fit for us. Just my opinion mind..<ok>

I'd rather we went for Rhodes teammate Rudy Gustede, he looks to be more suited physically to the premiership and is definitely a top talent.
Watched him 5 or 6 times - against Liverpool he was awesome - against everyone else he was average at best! Much like Wickham really so no better than what we have or are about to lose.

I'd like to see Rhodes in a SAFC shirt but not at the cost of £10m+ - too risky

It's a no from me. £12million is far too much to gamble on a Championship striker who may/may not be able to cut it.

We could get Austin for a fraction more who's now a proven goalscorer.

We'd be better off keeping Wickham IMO.

Rhodes reminds me of Jermaine Beckford, prolific but just not cut out for the very top.

The best striker in The Championship is Austin, as he's proven in the Premier League, last season one of the top scorers in that league was Cameron Jerome FFS, he's ****ing awful.

Absolutely not for more than £6million.

Gestede has a better all round game and has gone for around hal the Rhodes figures, it's ridiculous.

If Rhodes is upwards of £12million and Autin is £15million or less, we sign Rhodes we are idiots.

Yeh about this <bubbly>

There must be a reason no premiership club has taken a chance on him yet. Low and behold the main suitors are boro. This all reeks of an agent trying to drum up interest imo given the lack of top flight intrest

Never in a million years at the prices quoted. 5 million max but I reckon all he would be was an impact sub. He is a good finisher though but lacks pace IMO.
