I didn't get to see the game yesterday and I only listned to the last few mins. I was wondering what every one thought to Howson on his first game?
does he look like a good signing?
did he fit into the team well?
does he look prem quailty?

cheers guys!

Fox allowed us to play football howson doesn't play hat role, but he may well learn to. I vow never to return to stoke their fans especially the man with his 6-7 mates shouting abuse the whole time and vitriolic abuse with his six year old daughter looking frightened. Said something to the stewards but ignored

I'm pretty sure Fox started the Leicester game too, because between him and Hoolahan they must have managed about 50% pass completion. But yes, in hindsight Fox would have been a better pick than Howson for that game, although the later didn't perform badly, he just seemed a bit eager to impress and made some mistakes.

In fact his performance remind me, to partly quote Gary Neville of a kid playing a playstation, making up for the frustration of a missed pass by a rash challenge and so on.

Don't forget it took the other players a few games to settle into playing in the pl though so lets wait and see how he shapes up in the weeks to come before making any judgements

Many of the players that have come in the last few years have not been involve in sparkling debut games. Its been a long time since we have won our opening game of the season for instance.
You cannot make any judgement on Howson. Just a judgement on the way the whole team performed poorly, maybe with some justification because of our opponents style of play, and move on to Wigan which should be a better yardstick of the way we can perform.
