Hello United fans I said that Jonny Evans is a contender to be in the team of the year, and a mate has been giving me stick for it. I was wondering if, firstly, you think that he has been good this season, and if so, secondly, whether any of you had any useful stats that I could use to prove how good he's been. I for one think he's improved a lot this season and in the absence of your two experienced defenders, he's done very well. He's played a lot of his games with not only new signings, but teenage ones as well. The ironic thing is that my mate gets mad when people say Koscielny isn't very good, but for me they've both done similar things in learning and being more solid etc. Good luck against Fulham, I could really use Rooney and Valencia scoring me some points on fantasy.
He had a few dodgy games early on, but I think that was largely because our back four was changing every game. Since the turn of the year, we've had settled back 4, and I think Evans has done realy well. He was probably not far away from being sold in the summer, but he's proved now that he has the talent to play for us long term
This. He's a bit dodgy when he's not sure about his role in the defence, but once he's used to who he's playing alongside he does really well. I reckon he could be first choice next season provided he builds an understanding with an experienced defensive partner.
Another great performance from Evans. He got MOTM tonight, he's realy starting to cement himself as a top class player. Don't listen to your mate, Johnny is proving to be a class act
Past few months, he has been suberb and has built a good and key understanding with Ferdinand in the heart of the defence.
In my opinion he never looked like he had total confidence in his ability playing for United (kind of like Ben Foster) until recently, he would always try rash tackles and cause problems at the back, but lately he looks a lot more like the player that was on loan at Sunderland, if he continues to play like this, and possibly improve as he's still young, then he could become a key player at the back for United for years to come.
