Hows he doing for blackpool? I think he's bagged a couple tonight. Will he be a good player for Liverpool?
Doing very well in his last few games. His loan is for experience, it seems his getting playing time, and goals with that. I hope he continues to do well, a possible gem left from the Hodgson era?
I think he'll be a similar sort of play as Meireles was. Not too great at defending but being in that hole and being able to play a pass and score the odd one here or there. Don't think he'll be a superstar but could quite easily be a good squad player. Remember he's only 19ish... and if he can do well in the Championship this season then why not in 2-3 years make the step up to our first team.
As Lucas said, he's got his hat-trick tonight as Blackpool lead Leeds 5-0! Scored an excellent free-kick on his debut I believe. Doing well at Blackpool which is good.
Once his loan finishes we'll have a better indication. If we think he can be slowly integrated into the squad then fair enough, with a good pre-season and a good run then this lad can show us what his got. For now he has to concentrate on doing well for Blackpool.
He wasn't quite ready for first team action at Liverpool but a decent run in the Championship shouldn't do him any harm and if he keeps up this form he'll get another chance at Anfield. Still a young lad so fingers crossed his game and confidence improve.
I thought he did a brilliant job for us last season and showed flashes of brilliance. The game away at Fulham springs to mind, when he put a great ball through to Suarez to score. My only worry for him is that he isn't very versatile, he has to play attacking midfield. I think he will be a player of the future for us.
I really rate Shelvey and I see him as Gerrards natural replacement when he whittles down his playing time. This loan will only help him Benitez signed Shelvey http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-plan-revive-Reds-players-feel-Liverpool.html
He's under 20 isn't he? And so far in a Liverpool shirt he has played pretty well, and he has put in some top performances in for Blackpool so far. I think he will become a fantastic player.
If he isn't gonna be starting many/any games next season, I'd like to see him loaned to a PL club. I can't remember the last time we had a player on loan in the same league as us.
I think Kenny likes Shelvey a lot, he played him ahead of bigger names last season and this. I rate his chances to be honest. Some of his first time balls are top rate and his attitude seems good.
He took his goals well. Scored the first penalty then had to re-take and scored again. Second one was a rebound and the third was from a little through ball and was 1v1 with the keeper and just rolled it past time. Hope he has a good season and prepares him for next year where he can push on with us.
