JDG is not ours and Ki is . If the board had their way we would never of signed him in the first place .
Yep .... a player good enough to start for Holland in the 3rd / 4th playoff of the World Cup and walk away with a medal, is not good enough for us ... makes perfect sense! WTF really. Coupled with giving away a keeper like Vorm who we know can perform at a Prem level as a #1 (versus Fab who has yet to command a #1 role), and who also got a medal with Holland, I question what their smoking down at the Liberty. We really seem to think our **** doesn't stink. Are we really that good that we can let two such players walk .... and get butt-****ed by Spurs in the process ... are we really sure we've upgraded.
De Goose only had game time in the early WC games for Holland, he wasn't good enough for the later rounds, Yes Vorm picked up a medal sitting on the bench as No3 goal keeper?.................. PS: Forgot my mistake, Vorm came on in the 93rd minute for 15 seconds of game time, so he did actually touch the match ball................
deGuzman played the whole of the 3rd place game. Not saying we should get him back as I've not been convinced about him, but he looked a different player against Brazil. I'm sure Huw will get a suitable replacement.
The self styled football experts who inhabit this forum constantly need someone to ridicule,and De Guzman is now that player. Well,actually,he's been the target off and on,depending on whether he scores or not,for a couple of seasons. He's even being ridiculed for "only having game time in the early WC games".
If I had to choose between JDG and GS,I would probably opt for GS,but a "massive upgrade",hmm,that's a bit insulting to JDG.
I hear de goose is signing for Lekhwiya. he will be playing at 'Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Stadium' it has a capacity of 10,000 and parking for 3000 camels!........... But then they are thinking of letting the camels in to watch the games as the average gate last season was a whopping 2,764!!........... With such gratuitous put-downs it's no wonder that many get irritated. Some seem to forget the days when there were more pigeons taking a dump on the north stand roof than people under it watching the game. And of course .... there's Monk, such a dominant center back, how quickly we forget the days when people would compare him to dracula because of his fear and inability to defend against crosses .... crosses from lower league wingers and against lower league forwards. If I remember correctly ... when we reached the Prem, Rogers couldn't get a rookie 19 year old on loan from Spurs fast enough to allow him to sit Monk on the bench or better still in the stands. And now that aspiring brain trust of football ingenuity and defensive mastery is managing our club. It it weren't true, it couldn't be made up.
