Is awesome. If you knew ANYTHING about football, you'll know how much Jonas brings to the team! His work-rate is very good, his dribbling is fantastic, he's strong, he's determination is great, his link-up and understanding with Enrique 90% of the time is spot on, he relives pressure off the team and allows other players to do there ''thing'' on the pitch without having constant pressure on them, Jonas also has very good pace, he can win headers and his crosses aren't that BAD! He gives a lot! He may not be Lionel Messi but what he brings to the team on the WHOLE is excellent. Yes he has his levels of inconsistency but don't most Premier League wingers suffer that from time to time? I'll definitely have him on the team when Arfa's back(I think he's much better in a attacking midfield position)... He's not a goalscorer, he's not a assist-machine and he's not that GREAT but he's a good quality winger who gives his all and puts in the required effort, work-rate and determination and IMO should be given a bit more credit for what he BRINGS to the team in terms of skill, flair and general commitment! Saying all that, I'l take 8m in a snap! Don't think he's worth more than 6m personally!
Agree with you again, having a great team workrate is whats really allowed us to push away from the bottom 3
Agree with all of this, but I should tell you, it sounds like Bartons Tash doesnt rate Jonas at all, I was shocked too. Just so you know, it's not like he'll constantly remind us with fickle excuses. On the Lazio bid, I dunno if I'd have 8m for him, we dont exactly need the money and we'd need to spend most or all of it to replace him. On the crossing, I know it's popular to slate him for it but the average cross succession rate in the PL is around 20 per cent, and Jonas is only slightly below that (15%) - I follow a guy from Opta on twitter. I like Ben Arfa in the AM role as well he doesnt track back as much as Gutierrez and Nolan doesnt work too far forward from CM IMO.
he gives 100% every time he steps onto the pitch, and that's all you can resonably ask for from a professional footballer
at the subtle/not so subtle Bartons Tash digs! I saw two Jonas articles when I checked not606 a few minutes ago and thought he had done something stupid .
hope you're joking mate. he was atrocious against blackburn. probably our most wasteful player but defensively he's very useful.
He's a great asset going forward. His crossing is getting better. Yesterday there were a couple of off crosses but he has significantly improved. His unpredictability baffles defenders, he wins corners and free kicks, he gets into good positions, link up play with enrique is personally second to none with anyone else in the premier league. I personally think he's better going forward than defending, but that's just my opinion.
I'd love to see him on the right, crossing more with his right foot. After all, he is right footed. Comes under some stick because 90% of the time he is crossing with his left, which is ok at best.
