sorry for making 2 threads rather quickly together but i want to know how many of you thought Jonas deserved his red card? for me No, he made two fouls all day and he got the ball in the second time. but on the other hand it was slightly reckless and caught the woman Nani a millisecond before the ball. but surely he was trying to get the ball? if that excuse is good enough for Rooney then it should be good enough for anyone.

EDIT: to make it obvious for people, im asking about the second yellow.

Deserved the 2 yellows, both tackles were late and reckless.

Are you sure he got the ball for the second tackle? I thought he did at first but it appeared he didn't after watching the replay.

Definite second yellow. Nowhere near the ball, poor tackle. Not sure how it could seem otherwise.

He deserved to go. It doesn't matter how many fouls you commit in a game, your first one can get your sent off straight away if it is bad enough. And both of them were bad enough for yellows. He will be missed next week.

well in my opinion if he hasn't sent off rooney because he 'went for the ball' then technically so was jonas...

Both clear yellows. Surely you can't have doubts it doesn't equate to a deserved sending off?

Both tackles merited yellow cards and from the reaction of Jonas it seems he agreed as he caused little fuss and just accepted the decision.

He looked tired. Not a bad thing giving him a one game rest (granted not against Chelsea) and hope he comes back firing against Norwich.

It was completely deserved. The fact that Rooney didn't get sent off is irrelevant (though I fully believe he should have been).

Two geniue attempts for the ball, so to get sent off for the combination is wrong in my mind, mind you watching the Swansea v Villa game referee seems to get his cards out quickly.

I'm genuinely stunned by the number of no votes, both were the very definition of yellow card challenges and late in the game, so there's no argument of 'its my first foul'. As OT said, Jonas' reaction sums it up.
