From what we've seen, we have to assume that at some point not too far away Marveaux will break into the first team. That will give us a midfield 5 of Tiote, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Marveaux and ?????

The right wing position is left open to one of Obertan and Jonas, and the big decision is who to drop. Most will say drop Obertan, but I would say that with a bit of confidence he has the potential to be far more effective than Gutierrez. With a long run of games and gradually increasing confidence, I can see him offering a lot more attacking wise than Jonas. Jonas has been fantastic so far not offensively but defensively, giving Raylor tonnes of support. But when (eventually) we have Santon in at left back, I'd like to see our two best attacking wingers out wide. Jonas end product will always be a problem, and his work rate is what we've needed so far, but when Santon comes in I think that bit of creativity will be more important to the team. A full strenth squad would mean a formation something like this for me...

    ----------Krul-----------
    Simmo Saylor Colla Santon
    ---------Tiote-----------
    Ober--- Cabaye -----Marv
    ---------HBA------------
    ---------Best------------

I think Jonas is a better player and is far more important to the side as a whole because of what he contributes defensively. Short term I would keep Jonas in the side but if Marveaux really is that good I think Obertan will become a better player than Jonas so I'd stick with him.

It's also worth remembering this is a squad game for us now, rotation should be in effect, we shouldnt have one starting XI.

Jonas every time for me, bring Obertan on at a latter stage to stretch a tiring defence. What Jonas does is often overlooked, he has the rare ability to beat a man or two or three. The opposition know this now and often have two men on him creating space for our other players not to mention the need to bring him down by fouling him time and again. I'd also prefer to have the extra help for the left back, the more the better <ok>

Jonas needs a chance to play without the shackles on which he has had all this season so far. On top of that he's spent the last season being the only proper winger at the club, meaning all last year he was our only outlet and had to pick up most balls from halfway and run. A Jonas Gutierrez who can pick up the ball in the final third and only have to worry about 1 or 2 defenders due to some actually being occupied by our right hand side will be far more dangerous, and he needs to be able to show that. Once Santons in I predict at least a few more goals/assists from the J-Man!

    No. It's Jonas or Obertan.

    Not Graham Poll
