In lots of peoples formation porn I've seen Marveaux put straight into the first team and Gutierrez dropped to the bench. I know we don't have much to judge this on, but who would you prefer to see in the first team? Or would you want to see them both in the same team?

Well we obviously need to let Marveaux show us what he can do, so him in the team first and if he's better than Jonas then so be it :)

Personally I think we will play both however if it was just to be the one it would have to be Jonas.

Jonas to start, Marveaux has to earn his place in the team during pre season and sub appearances. Jonas was on good form end of last year and seems to improve when he has competition, so. They can bring the best out of each other <ok>

Plus Jonas can play on the right, so...

I'm waiting to judge the guy, but I suppose I'm optimistic he'll prove to be an improvement over Jonas. Don't get me wrong though, I do like Jonas, I'm just hoping Marveaux will do more than just add depth to the midfield

Given the players we have at the moment I'm expecting a good bit of rotation and players being picked on form, doubt we'll have a set best XI, which is a good thing. Will make us a bit more unpredictable, and competition for starting places is always a good thing.

Jonas to start, we don't really know if Marveaux will cut it in this league.

Which implies a 4-2-3-1, meaning that one of Tioté/Barton/Cabaye has to be benched.

Its gotta be Jonas that starts! Rushing Marveaux could potentially backfire on us. Give him time to get to grips with the league, and if does start to show some potential, then we can think about starting him.

    Like it, competition for Simmo.

Gosling'll be a better utility man than Perch....

As things stand I'd expect to see us switch between a few formations, or at least midfield/attack set-ups. The 4-2-3-1 people are expecting, a 4-2-2-2, 4-3-3 and a more withdrawn 4-5-1.
