Jonas Gutierrez and Fabricio Coloccini

  1. Does anyone else think that these two players have really stepped up their game and impressed us since Alan Pardew has been here?

Since the start of 2011, Coloccini and Jonas have really started to grow on me. Coloccini has been srsly sexual, and has developed into a brilliant CB. Ok he has the off weak game, but none the less he's been very consistant. I think his red card and being replaced by Sol Campbell really gave him a kick up his Argentinian arse!!

Jonas also over the last few months he's been very good. I've been seeing more and more quality deliveries since Pardew has come here. Ok, 3/4 of his crosses are still ****e, but 1/4 good crosses is still creating chances. 2 goals and 6 assists now, and i think he can better that next season. His passing has been good, and his work rate in defense has been brilliant. Even if his technical performance is poor during the game, his work effort is never in doubt.

On the negative side, it has taken him a ridiculous amount of time to get to PL standard, but he's starting to prove to me that he can cut it for us long term, and i think he could act as a right winger in the future. He's made me less concerned about the need for more creative players. Ben Arfa and Jonas would be a very good pair of wingers. I still would love to sign Gervinho, as Jonas, Hatem and Gervinho would be a brilliant selection.

Anyway, all i'm saying is that i'm full up of humble pie, and hats off to Gutierrez. Atleast the **** ****ing waved when he scored the goal against Wolves!! Ungrateful little **** finally decides to show that he cares!!!

    :D<ok> jajajaajajajajaja

    must..resist..waving..joke..
edit: but yes tash, coloccini has improved massively since his first season here, and even since the start of the season. I don't think guti has improved as much, but that's because, imo, he has been decent already in the PL

Jonas doesn't have his spiders mask inside his shorts now, he has a banner with 'Who the f*** is Tash' on it.

    Totally agree, Tash.

    Good article.

Jonas was OK/average in his first season with us(relegation season).
He was excellent at Championship level.
He's been very good this season. I'm sure he's already had around 3-4 MOTM performances? (Man City, Birmingham, Wolves???, etc..). Hard-worker, good dribbler, skillful, quick(Not Young/Lennon style but enough to cause problems) and his crossing isn't bad but obviously it isn't one of his strengths.
Colo was **** in our relegation season. Brilliant in the Championship and Brilliant this season. Both have adapted very well to the PL and despite Guti's inconsistency and Colo's ''off-games'', there both valuable members of our squad who deserve all the praise they get. There not world class but definitely more than capable of playing in the PL for a couple of more seasons.

  5. tbh i didn't think Jonas was that good at the start of THIS season aswell as Colo, but i think they've been brilliant since the start of 2011.

Colo has improved so much it's kinda scary.
And, as of late, Guti has improved a lot himself too. He also improved back before Ben Arfa's injury too. Now that Ben Arfa's nearing fitness, Guti's improving.

    I sense a theme...

Yeah but IMO Guti's best match was against City. Colo's been very consistent indeed.. just need a better ''quality'' partner for him next season and I'm not sure either Saylor or Willo are the answer. Samba would be brilliant or even Scott Dann/Roger Johnson or dare I say it.. Gary ****ing Cahill?

Had a decent match against Brum too, 2 assists?

Samba would be the perfect partner for Colo

To be fair to Tash, if he hadn't posted 5 articles today, it would've been pretty dull. I went out at about 5.30 and when I came back at about 8.00 there were no new articles up there.
